Saw them at Maple leaf Gardens . They opened for Motley crue. When the house lights came up after they were done 40 mins later half the arena emptied out. Excellent band for sure.
I hope this one comes up. This is Lee Aarron AKA The Metal Queen. A Toronto Rocker Chick and 1 Hot Babe
Okay so It's not coming up. Lee Aaron Hands On if anyone else would like to try. Thanks. -
actually saw Y&T when they still performed as Yesterday and Today. true story.
agree, underrated band. -
Think I have this figured out -

Cool Hand Kev owning a music thread yet again. Did he mention UFO??
Top 10 Rock and Roll off the top of my head. First three are the only ones I put in order. Mix and match the rest:
1. Rolling Stones
2. Iron Maiden
3. Rush
4. Led Zep
5. The Band
6. Black Sabbath
7. The Clash
8. CCR
9. Pearl Jam
10. Jawbreaker, Grateful Dead, Deer Tick, The Replacements, Misfits, Radiohead (I hate lists) Every 5 minutes I would change it. -
I really like the Beatles but don't consider them in my top 10 or 20. I find their music boring and safe compared to so many other great bands.
-
It's easy to say Beatles are the best of all time but if you can be honest with yourself when was the last time you put their album on and not just heard them on the radio?
-
no rank for you

Rage and Tool are easily my favorite 90's bands... and in my top 10. Fuck i miss rage, wish they hadn't broken up. Tool in concert is one of the best shows i've ever been to.

Lee aaron married he lead guitarist. They live about 20 minutes north of me . . . she has reinvented herself as a jazz chanteuse. Or at least she is trying to.
HOLY FUCK . . . she turns 50 this year. WTF ?!? How did I get this old? -
Edited By: coolhandkev May 12th, 2012 at 03:29 AMhaha yeah UFO and Thin Lizzy are my two plugs in any music thread now that apparently Rush is accepted here by a lot so no need to rant about them at all.Originally Posted by Z-Fresh

By the way watched TMS last week with Michael Schenker and he mentioned right as he was joining UFO in the early 70's he got a call to join the Rolling Stones. This was after leaving the Scorpions too. Dude was in demand back then, thought you'd get a kick out of the fact that the UFO legend almost joined your boys in the Stones.
edit: it was late seventies after a few years with UFO -
Bet you either forgot or did not know the first vid.
Geddy Lee back in the late 70's did this song with Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas
This is Dave's brother Ian. -
wait, what?. If you're unable to acknowledge the overwhelming multi-generational influence the Beatles had (and to an extent, still have) then I'd have to determine you are unqualified to post itt. This band revolutionized the way bands recorded and marketed music and gave young men all over the world a new career path option: rock star.
-
How is Springsteen/E Street Band not on the list? They've probably sold more concert tickets than anyone except the Rolling Stones, and are legendary for their live performances.

In no way am I ignoring their influence, their song writing abilities, talent or longevity. I said in my first post I really like them. I'm saying when I'm in the mood for a rock and roll band I don't think of them for the same reason I don't think of Bob Dylan even though he's one of my all time greats. The Beatles were pop stars not rock stars. The Stones are fucking rock stars.

That's rad. I've read probably 5 stone's biographys and never heard of that. Maybe I did but didn't realize since you put UFO on my radar. Probably wanted him to play on Exile after Brian Jones died. Taylor only played on that one album before Ronny became a staple.Originally Posted by coolhandkev
