ok hear me out. right now GB is in 8th place in the conf. i got this from nfl.com and they have everything in order as far as tie-breakers go. currently...
1) chi 12-2
2) n.o 9-5
3) dal 9-5
4) sea 8-6
5) phi 8-6
ok so i concede those 5 will make the playoffs. its the most likely sceanario and we have to for this to work. obv this leaves one spot remaining. then we have
6) nyg 7-7
7) atl 7-7
8) gb 6-8
9) sf 6-8
10)car 6-8
11)min 6-8
12)stl 6-8
right now GB has control of its destiny by having the fewest conflosses among the 6-8 teams (GB has 5, the rest have 6). minnesota does has 4 but but they wont after GB beats them next wk and then GB would have that tie-breaker over them too by beating the vikes twice.
so...
if GB wins their final 2 games , at home vs MIN and at CHI, they have a legit shot. the CHI game looks scary but it is not. the bears have everything wrapped up and their defense is really hurting right now (tampa bay??). no way Urlacher, Vasher, Thomas Jones and the rest of those banged up guys play with nothing at stake and a bye the following week. lets say GB wins the two and finishes 8-8.
they now need a loss by NYG and ATL. any loss from ATL (vs Car, @Philly) would do (if both ATL and GB finish 8-8 GB would have a better conf record). the giants are a little bit more tricky. of course they could make things easy and lose to the Saints and @ Washington to go 7-9 but i'm guessing they prob win one of those to finish 8-8. they would finish with the same # of conf losses as GB, the next tie-breaker is common games which is not figured out yet. so basically, GB still has a shot, and its not all that unlikely.
there's 10 mins i'll never get back.... -
lol, you are funny. I can't believe you are writing all that up knowing that they don't have a chance. I should cut and paste that for a Minnesota thread.
-
do they give a playoff spot for the aging pity QB?
-
they do have a chance....thats why i figured it out
GB already won at the dome, in lambo vs rookie QB should be no prob.
hopefully! -
right they do have a chance
as for other snow chances in hell.....
The 49ers can win the NFC west if they win the final 2 games (Ari and Den) and Seattle losses theirs (SD and Tampa) -
is that a choke?
-
that pats game was ugly but luckily GB is in the nfc , the pack got whooped by that whole afc east cept miami
-
No one expected GB to win 4 games this year. So I say they played above expectations. And there were a few games they could have won too. (The Fucking Ram Game). Im definatly worried about there future though after Brett retires. Cause Aaron Rodgers sucks. The Defense still sucks. So much work to be done as far as rebuilding that team..
-
That rookie QB > Brad Johnson. They have about 20 times better chance winning now that dickless shell shocked noodle armed piece of shit is finally on the bench.
-
BRAD JOHNSON just won the $200,000 on UB.com. How is he supposed to concentrate on football with all this high limit poker action?
-
It's to bad that they don't have the tiebreaker with the Rams if they also win out and the other teams lose out.
-
Here's the clearest and most likely way for the Packers to get in: The Packers would need to win twice, the New York Giants would have to lose twice, St. Louis and Atlanta would each have to lose once and Seattle would have to win once.
just read this in a Wisconsin newspaper. apparently NYG has some random 4th tie-breaker over GB if they finish tied as well. i think ATL, STL will lose a game and obv Seattle should beat Tampa so basically if GB takes care of their business with a little help from the g-men losing, its possible
its just amazing that my fave team is 6-8 and still battling for a playoff spot, at least the games still mean something!! -
The Steelers are also going to make the playoffs
woot!
