  1. Was listening to Houston sports talk shows this morning and they were all debating who was better between Shaq and Hakeem. Obvious there is a lot of bias with Hakeem in Houston, but to my surprise, the hosts were picking Shaq! I am a huge Olajuwon fan, and no doubt in my mind if I had to pick one it would be Hakeem. Just curious to see non-Houston opinions since every1 calling in was picking Hakeem.

Reason: fkin gheys postin after me. bunch of cum guzzling gutter smooches
  3. Shaq
  4. the Big Aristotle
  5. the dream.
  6. Shaq but it's close. Looking at stats alone, you can make a strong argument for Hakeem
  7. I'd have to go with shaq
  8. The dream was far more skilled but I'll still go with shaq.
  9. the diesel

  10. It's really close IMO, I'd go with Shaq as long as I didn't need a free throw out of him.
  11. the stats were pretty similar, only huge difference was free throw percentage really.

Hakeem had more of a skill set and was definitely better defensively. But in Shaq's prime he was just so fuckin dominant by pure power.

  12. Hakeem easily.
  13. Shaq in his prime was on another planet than anyone else. They had to change rules because of him.
  14. pretty good debate. you could definitely argue that shaq's 5 year peak was greater than anybodys. healthy shaq was better than healthy hakeem, but health is obviously a factor when you compare players. hakeem averaged ~70 games a year while shaq averaged ~63. this is another reason i pimp dwight howard a lot, hes missed 7 games in 7 years while playing big minutes. id have to go with shaq because of how amazing he was in his prime

  16. Hakeem by a nose based on who's a better basketball player. I think I would rather have Shaq during his prime based on play and his marketability.
  17. While I loved The Dream it is so rare to ever get a player that dominated like Shaq did. I'm going with Shaq.

  18. Shaq, The Diesel, Shaq Fu, The Big Daddy, Superman, The Big Agave, The Big Cactus, The Big Shaqtus, The Big Galactus, Wilt Chamberneneezy, The Big Baryshnikov, The real deal, The Big Shamrock, the Big Leprechaun, Shaqovic, The Big Conductor and saving the best for last The Big 401K>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>The dream

Oh and as for the debate i think the players say it best. The ones who battled the likes of Wilt, Hakeem, David Robinson, Dwight Howard all of those centers were good. But the one guy they actually feared on the court was Oneal.

Latrell Sprewell, John Starks, Mitch Richmond, Clyde Drexler and Reggie Miller dominated Kobe during his first couple years, too.

shaq was 14-6 in his career vs hakeem. shaq averaged 22.1/12.4/3.6 and shot 54%. hakeem averaged 18.4/9.1/2.9 and shot 45%. do you just completely make things up?

I mean I know you are trying to look smart, but kobe started like 7 games his first few seasons.... while Shaq started every game and got raped in playoffs.....
  25. Shocker, darkpoker has no idea what he is talking about.
  26. wait wait wait, you are comparing their team's records to how good they did against each other? really?
  27. did you forget to look at the stats too?

i assume youre talking about the NBA finals where the rockets swept the magic? shaq in his 3rd year in the league played as well as hakeem in his prime.
28/12.5/6.3 on 60% shooting against 32.8/11.5/5.5 on 48% for hakeem. the next time they met in the playoffs ('99) shaq obliterated him
