    he went to jail for refusing to go to the war. sounds to me like a draft dodger.

  13. Doubt he didn't go to Viet Nam because he was being "Patriotic"... and it's a disgrace that they let him light the Olympic Torch in Atlanta.

    He didn't go to Vietnam because "those people never did nothing to him" or at least that was basically his position. That is patriotic in the traditional sense prior to it being co-opted to be the equivalent of nationalism. He stood for freedom and peace. Yeah, can see why you'd be against him lighting the torch...
