    Paczki's (punch-key) are a deep fied fruit filled donut. It's a polish american tradition to consume these the day before Ash Wednesday. The idea was to get rid of all the lard and sugar before lint started.

    We always had some excellent paczkis growing up in detroit, powder sugar bavarian cream or glazed apple

    I was able to find a Polish Market down here in the Clearwater area. But it's nothing like Detroit, most of the people at my office don't even know what a Paczki is.

    went to the bakery this morning early to get these so fkn good. always amazed how packed this place is every year at 7am
