  2. I actually stayed in the resort directly behind the KLM on the tail wing.

    The cooler part was not the landing, but the plane's taking off. People would try to withstand the winds and get blown head over heels down the embankment and into the water.

    St. Maarten is a really cool place to go if you get the chance. I preferred the Dutch side, but you can really explore the whole island (if you rent a car) in a week.

  5. How does everyone avoid getting their eardrums pwned by the noise from the engines? Or is it only takeoff thats ridiculously loud?
  6. If I were to try standing under one of those I know I'd be the unlucky bastid that would end up catching a nose wheel up-side the head or getting my azz sucked into one of the engines.
