So Im out of contacts. Ive been on this last pair for a while, and their done. The one side is bothering too much, and I am only wearing one right now. So I need to buy some new contacts bad.
Well apparently, im not allowed. My prescription has expired, so its against the law for anyone to sell me contacts.
So I have to go around with only one contact until im able to get an eye appointment so that I can buy some nore ones.
So pissed right now... thats a great fucking law. The guy that came up with that law must be from a family of eye doctors. -
wasn't that "contacts provision" in the new health care plan that just passed?

Did you try 1-800-contacts ( I assume you know what contacts you need)
I have been ordering from them for about ten years and never have sent shit into them. -

this has happened to me before... go to your eye doctor, explain the situation, say that you wanna make an appointment and order new contacts, but until then, can they give you a pair of contacts to hold you over until you can get in?
they will usually do that cause they would rather you have healthy contacts/eyes rather than wearing old ones in that can damage your eyes! -
My eye dr does this, gives me a sample pair until appt.

eye doc will give ya a trial pair to wear until you can get new ones at your appointment.....

I never gave them an eye doctor, just that I needed -2.5s and two days later in ther mail I got 12 pair for like $40 to last 6 months. (They have lasted 8 months and only used half of them - I should be blind by August.)Originally Posted by tennisee

My doctors office wouldnt even give me my prescription over the phone because it was expired.

I have used www.discountcontactlenses.com for years for my focus dailies.
I knew about the law but was still able to go 3 years ordering from them - they finally made me renew this year so I went and got it done.
I would not mind a 2 year law for safety reasons, but 1 year is excessive considering it can cost about $100-$125 for an eye appointment.
I am going to order a full year or more supply near the end of my current prescription. -

fuck eye doctors and there every 1 year bullshit, my prescription hasn't changed in 10 fucking years /rant anyways I found a site that you can order from without a prescription and the price is actually pretty reasonable compared to they eye doctor depending on which lenses you use obv. I have the Acuvue Oasys, if you want i can shoot you a pm but i have to fire up my other computer to find the link

kids let them dry out and smoke them. not the contacts themselves, but that powdery residue that scrapes off when they dry. If you have the prescription they know you have a legit reason to purchase them.
