I did once when I was 19. Dude was driving like a nutjob. I followed him while I was on with 911. He eventually drove into a ditch.
Shaun Rogers helps police catch drunk driver
The National Football Post Jul 21, 10:30 pm EDT
Cleveland Browns nose guard Shaun "Big Baby" Rogers provided a big assist to police, helping them catch a drunk driver.
Rogers, who recently received probation to resolve a case where he was caught with a loaded gun at the Cleveland airport, called 911 on Thursday after noticing an "erratic driver," according to WJW-TV.
"The occupants appear to be either very sleepy or drunk," Rogers told the dispatcher. "He's run off the road several times swerving across, they're driving on a flat tire right now."
Rogers remained on the phone, followed the car and pulled behind the driver to warn other drivers.
"Mr. Rogers positioned himself behind that vehicle and turned his emergency flashers on to notify other drivers that there was an emergency on the road, and I don't know what would've happened had he not done that," Middleburg Heights police chief John Maddox said.
As a result of Rogers' intervention, police arrested 20-year-old John Nykiel and charged him with driving under the influence and operating an unsafe vehicle.
"I thought his actions were above and beyond and I wanted to express to him as chief of police how much we appreciate what he did that night he helped keep Middleburg Heights safe," Maddox said.
Kudos to Rogers for a brave act of citizenship. -
It is hard to do tho if you live in a city with small townships. By the time they forward your call to the city he's onto the next one. Just like the Duke boys of Hazzard County.

Did coming back from the casino a few months ago. Some chick in a huge SUV all over the road. Called it in after out of the blue she ran way off the road and got within a foot of hitting a bicyclist who was riding WELL off the road. No way she could have driven far without hitting something. We followed her for a bit but we were going in a different direction and the 911 operator told us not to follow them so who knows what happened.

One time I blamed a drunk driver for 9/11. He was goin all Jihad on me.

Some lady was swerving everywhere at like 2 a.m. and almost crashed into me when there was just us two for like 500 yards on the highway so I slowed down, got her plate and called the police on her.

In NC you dial *HP for the highway patrol, so I wouldn't call 911 unless there was an accident - I've never done it, but would if I saw someone who was obv shitfaced driving - not if they were just weaving a bit, but if they were seriously putting others at risk

Me and my girl called the cops on someone like 2 days ago. We were driving home from the next town over at like 6pm.
Dude in front of me was jerking the wheel from the left to right quickly making his car rock and swirve. Kinda like you see nascar drivers do during a caution. Never seen anybody do that shit before. So we called the cops.
Dude was driving a blue infiniti, which is the same brand and color car i drive. So i got pulled over, lol. We saw were the guy parked, so we told the cop that we were the ones that called, and where he was.
No clue what happened after that. -
Was driving my girlfriends brand new at the time Camaro SS in 02' and a drunk driver hit us in the rear at a red light about 2am or so. They back up while I'm about to get out the car and hit us again. They then speed off leaving us standing in the road with a half-off bumper. Being a dumbass myself I chased them down back rounds around my hometown. I call 911 while im going 90+ and tell them about the situation and they say "take the tag # and we will handle it, please do not pursue them" obv not what I did! I passed them and tried slamming on brakes to run them off the road. They about wreck a few times but end up turning off before they wrecked and gg trying to wreck them after that!

I called the police about a guy who was asleep at a redlight at like 2am one time. I was behind him and pulled up next to him honked and he didn't respond so i just called in the intersection.

i videotaped some dude who parked too close to a crosswalk and sent the video to the cops. I bet he got a ticket and was piiiiiiissssssed
-
yes. dude was driving the wrong way on the highway and swerving all over... i had to go onto the side of the road to avoid him. i was told i was the fifth person to call about him.

*FHP here in Florida. Basically did what Rogers did, called the police and followed him on I-4 at maybe 9 AM on a Sunday morning (wasnt sure if drunk or old). Then I stayed behind him for about 15 minutes until the cop got there and pulled him over. Went past them and didn't get a call back or anything - but I'm fairly certain the guy was drunk (i.e. it wasn't a oldster).

I do unto others as I would have done to me.....

Lot of tattletales in this thread. Man have a little fun people. I did call 911 when they ran out of chicken nuggets though.

yes

not sure this counts....we see this guy wasted out of his mind at work.....he's basically sleep walking around store......we review video and see that he drove horriably to where he was parked. we call the police so he doesnt drive away and kill someone....he literally fell face first into a bunch of cell phones and the hooks they were hanging on......police show up...never seen them handcuff a guy so fast.

I did when I got ran off the road into a median by a guy going the wrong way on a 4 lane highway with a grass median seperating the east and west bound lanes

I did once, passed 2 cops on the side of the highway while I was on the phone with 911. He was driving like 90 and almost hit a bunch of cars. The cops never pulled the guy over and when I finally caught up to the guy again, he had hit another car. Lazy fucking highway patrol.

One night we came home from being gone for the weekend and there was guy sitting in a car in the street around the side of our house. I went inside and looked out once in awhile. He was just sitting there for almost an hour, every once in a while moving his head around, so I called the cops. As the cop pulled up, the guy took off and the cop caught him at his house about a block or two away. Turns out he got drunk at home, had a fight with his girlfriend and then got in his car and tried to drive around the neighborhood, but he didn't get very far before he passed out by my house. I felt kind of bad after I found out the story. Then the guy fought the DUI charge and I got subpoened to the trial by then the prosecutor. They made a deal right before the trial started. I never really saw him after that, I think his girlfriend kicked him out.
