Wow
-
wow lol no arguing it either
-
Barrett picked up the ball and did tag him too
-
this is gonna be big
-
thanks for the new thread.
-
as phillies fan all i can do is LOL @ 8 threads about same thing and sure they are not gonna stop
-
As a Padre fan i,ve gotten used to this...but this one just hurts bad!
-
This might be a dumb question but can the Padres petition for review of the game or anything?
Under normal regular season circumstances I could see the answer being no but is there anything the Padres can do when a blown call costs them the season? -
no
-
That umpire Tim McClellan has been in the middle of a lot of controversial situations in the past.
-
No mention of Atkins' HR that was called a double?
-
lol at being able to challenge that call. Are you serious
-
Padres left the field with no protest, boohoo. . .not like Hoffman wouldn't have surrendered another run anyway, he was tossing up a beach ball
-
This isn't really a controversial situation. From where he was set up it appeared that holliday touched the plate. Not that the replay is even conclusive that he didn't
-
cosign
-
Let me say Im not a fan of either team but that was the worst call ive ever seen the ump even waits like he knew the guy didnt touch then all the sudden says safe OMFG
-
HE FUCKING MISSED THE PLAY THAT ENDED THE GAME AND COST THE PADRES THE WIN. FUCKING BLEW IT BIG TIME HOW IS THAT NOT CONTROVERSIAL.
THE REPLAY IS VERY CONCLUSIVE ACTUALLY.
ROCKIES FAN? -
Thank you Im not a fan of either team too but the ump friggin blew it. No one knows for sure what wouldve happend after that.
edit i misread that shit -
I'm not a fan of either team...either. That was an awful call. The replay wasn't really conclusive, it didn't look to me like he touched it. BUt the fact that the ump waited so long to make the call is ridiculous. It seemed like he was waiting for barrett to tag him out and then he just ho hum puts up the safe sign like he just decided "eh fuck it." I think if that game was in san diego theres a very good chance he calls holliday out.
-
laugh at the guy on espn saying even if he was safe they should never let the crowd down. wtff
-
odds next year instan repaly to be used like in NBA only at end of game for something like this, and for no other reason.
Balls and strikes obv out of question, but I feel bad for Padres losing like that, Rockies still prob win game but be impossible to convince Padres fan of that.
First Question obv from Media, why did Peavy not start yesterday instead of setting up for the playoff game, ouch Bud Black. Especially cause Tomko got lit up, Padres fans should be asking that cause that decision is possibnly why there was there even was a playoff game to begin with. -
Yeah you reverse that call in colorado.
You'd need a swat team to get out of the stadium. -
Atkins double was a homer
call it even eh -
^^ Padres fan?
-
Maybe he wasn't. Doesn't make it wrong. He still has to make a call. There is no one to help in that situation either.
btw Umpires are trained to take their time on close plays. -
^^^ true, They do teach taking your time, but usually its only on out calls to make sure the catcher has the ball, but with safe calls usually you make them faster cause there is no condition, either he beat the throw or not. The biggest flaw was he didnt inspire alot of confidence in me, if hes confident with his call then ppl complain less.
And BTW I dont think Barrett actually touched Holliday after he picked the ball back up, he was going to then the ump called safe and he just walked off w/o tagging him -
take it easy psycho
-
Haha so apparently we are just going to ignore Atkins home run? Come on it was two bad calls it happens, but the home plate incident wouldnt have happened had they got the home run right.
