I am looking to buy a pair of comfortable over ear headphones to wear for extended periods of time while playing online poker. Anyone who has a similiar style headphone mind sharing their experience with a particular model over 4+ hour sessions of poker? I know they are only headphones but I get bad headaches from the pair I have now and am looking for a proven make. Any input is appreciated.

Bose TriPort... The price maybe sort of high, but I got them and they're REAL NICE.

If you're willing to drop a little coin, Bose has a few pretty nice sets of headphones out.
I cannot speak from experience, as I have some nice Shure in-ear headphones, but I work at a place that sells electronics gear online.
There are Bose OE (over-ear) and Bose Triport headphones that both cover the ear.
Here is the website for the place I work:

I own a pair of these Bose Noise Cancellation 2 Headphones. I bought them for poker b/c I can't stand the kind of headphones that go inside the ear and these are the most comfortable things ever. They go for around $300 but totally worth it. I now use them for everything from mowing the lawn to doing housework. The sound quality is surreal. I highly recommend these. Let me know if you have any questions. -

I have a pair of Sony MDR-V600s that I'm pretty happy with.

Don't wear headphones...makes you look like a putz.

Righty-ho. (not you....!)... PM me sometime........ -
I've got some Sony MDREX81LPW's. They do a great job of noise cancelling and the sound quality is very good. I only have 2 small complaints, one earbud has a considerably longer amount of wire than the other so it hangs more freely than the other. Secondly, after a considerable amount of time, the earbuds tend to get a bit uncomfortable. I only spend $50 on mine, so I'm guessing that if you're dropping $150+ on Bose headphones, they should be flawless. My buddy has a set of Shure's and he swears by them.

The Bose Noise Cancellation 2 headphones are $249 and are very worth it. The new ones they came out with are $299, but they don't cover the ears. Personally, I like my ears to be covered by the headphone, so I stuck with the 2's.
They're most effective on airplanes. A lot of times I won't even listen to music when I fly. I'll just turn on the noise-cancellation, and it drowns out all the extra whirring of the plane. It's pretty nice. -
I have a pair of Sony MDR-7506s. Very nice. Very comfortable. Great sound quality. not terribly expensive.
$89.88 at <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href=http://tinyurl.com/v8xsl>Amazon</a> -
I would love a pair of those, but I mainly play live, and I don't want to drown out the table chatter. I pick up a lot of information about how people play by what they say. So I just use basic earbuds, one in, one out. Not greatest sound quality, but gets the job done, which is making $$$
-
I sometimes go with the one in/one out approach...especially if I'm seated next to a friend. But more often than not it just gives people the impression that I want to talk to them while I'm playing. Which usually isn't the case, I usually go with both buds in and set the volume on my MP3 player to 6-8ish, which always me to get some background music, yet still pick up table talk and make sure I act in turn and in an appropriate time frame.

My Bose headphones broke, and I used to be an over-ear guy myself til I got the Shure E-series earphones. They are mostly sound-isolating and you can hear parts in the music that you never heard before. The only drawback is they are $550, though..

have koss ur/29 and they are very comfortable really cant tell theyre on

great pic
-
Your not kidding I personaly cannot stand the headphones I bought so my daughter cannot hear the 2Live Crew I enjoy listing 2 while playing
-
The Shure E-series are awesome.
They also made me change from OE to IE.
