    What did you guys think about pilot? I loved it and think the show has a ton of potential.

    I don't doubt that it'll be a show worth watching, but I suspect that I'll have a tendency to unfavorably compare it to Deadwood along the way as I already did tonight. I was commenting to the people that I watched it with that nothing in the first episode was as compelling as the opening scene in Deadwood which really grabs you by the boo boo. The comparisons will likely not be fair, but will probably be unavoidable.

    I thought the gunslinger with a heart of gold was a little too thick. I would have preferred having a little longer with an anti-hero. Specifically, I think they could have left us guessing a little longer on the nature of "Meridian".

    I'm a little unclear on the role of the Irish guys.

    Wife of the surveyor is hot.

    I would baptize that hooker.

    Odds the Seargent is the railroad magnate? Meh, that would be too neat and hard to carry over more than one season.


    My first reaction was good, not great, but it's AMC and I'll definitely be watching for a while.

    i enjoyed it

    scene with indians was awesome but i dont like the slow stabbing death scene (hated the dieing jew scene in saving private ryan)

    really liked the end of the episode and am looking forward to being a hellonwheels fan for years to come

    not much love for this show on here

    I just watched the pilot and I got the second episode ready to go as well

    I really enjoyed it and think it is full of potential. I thought the dude who got his throat slit was gonna have a bigger role in the show since he was in a lot of the previews for the season, guess not though. Really enjoying the main character so far as well

    second episode was great. main character is real deal badass

    really like the swede as a character so far as well and the big boss guy is pretty awesome too

    this show is fucking awesome.

    when i saw the preview i thought it was gonna be cheesy and try too hard and do a lot of the other things that cable dramas do, but i have no complaints so far... i could see this creeping into my top 10 GOAT list if it doesnt go to shit and lasts a few seasons

    although I see a lot of groundwork for a cheesy white man/black man overcome to be best friends, and a couple romance plots in the works... I guess if the writers lull at any point they'll lean on that, which could get old.
