Ok im trying to hook up my pc to my Sharp LCD tv. I am using s-video from my video card to the s-video on the tv. However, there is no input selection for "s-video" on my tv.
Is it just supposed to show the image automatically. Do I have to find the S-video selection in my tv's settings (which I cant find). or do I have to set something up with my computer first.
I have done this before with a plain CRT tv and it just worked as soon as I put the tv to "s-video".
I am pretty computer/electronics savvy, but im looking for a quick answer.

Try F5 but i believe you will have to find S-Video by pushing the INPUT button on your remote or TV/Video
-
yeah exactly what I tried...input only gives the digital inputs connected, such as satellite, DVD player etc.
no s-video anywhere..
thanks though -
I have my tv hooked up to my comp. If its being used as a second display first make sure that its enabled through your video card software or windows (whichever way you prefer to do it). Then press input on your tv.

dude there is no channel..I am pretty sure its automatic
I will add a secondary device as mentioned above -
Mr. Blonde is CORRECT! There HAS to be a S-Video channel.
Just jump of a bridge if you cannot figure something this simply out! Oh your from Canada, that explains ALOT! -
Try restarting your computer with the S-video plugged into both computer and tv. If this doesn't work, there is usually an alt + F# combo that switches the display from the computer monitor to an external monitor.

Did you read any of the replies? GTFO

Its possible that the input selection is not going to svideo because the choice has been eliminated or was never enabled. On newer TVs you can use the menu to choose any number of inputs to cycle thru using the source or input key while ignoring those which arent used. I would check for input display or something like this in the TV menu.

Thanks everyone for the help. Needless to say it works now. But right after I replied to the Mr Blonde post my computer ate shit and systems files went corrupt, so I had to reinstall winxp..
Answer: there is no s-video input button on the remote...it automatically uses one of two inputs. but since my computer was eating shit and thus died it wasnt about to do that. And so the tv didnt detect the input, nor did the computer. simply - computer was in need of a format, and wasnt recognising new hardware properly.
thanks for the help anyone.
