  1. OK OT, i seriously need all of your help!!.. i don't know anything about dogs.. I want to get my girlfriend a puppy for Christmas. Her parents have 2 shitzu's (one boy and one girl). She wants a small dog like the ones her parents have. I don't want a dog that sheds (or at least as little as possible). Her parents dog's don't seem to shed at all. What kind of dog should I get, and how should I go about getting said dog in the next 16 days???

    Thanks!

    Lol soooooo true
  9. Go to your local shelter. Invariably lots of dogs, and you can pick out one you like, and give it a good home.
  10. The dog posted in a pomeranian im pretty sure... and based on the fact i lived with two of them for 6 months (damn roommates) they do make you want to kick them.... They bark and if are not trained shit and piss everywhere or even when they are somewhat trained they shit and piss on a pad in your apartment... Fucking hated those dogs.
  11. Hot my wife a chihuahua for Xmas. I thought it was a dumb idea but she really wanted it. Little thing is actually pretty awesome. Would recommend

notsureifserious.jpg.............feels like you may be trying to build the little guy up so OP will want him so bad that he offers you any amount of money to take him off your hands...

    Reason: imo.

  13. Get her a morkie, its a yorkie/malteese mix (probably spelt wrong), they stay small don't shed etc, the cute grizzly bear looking dog earlier ITT gets big, at least I'm pretty sure. AND GET IT FROM A BREEDER NOT A PUPPY STORE. 100% google around for dog breeders or morkie breeders in your area. Scottish terrier, West highland terriers are also good small dogs that don't shed.

If you take anything from this post it should be do not buy from a puppy store but from a good breeder.

    .

  16. Pure breds have more health issues than mutts. Breeders will never admit this, but it is true. Sometimes, expensively so . . .
  17. agree with Milo - get a dog from a shelter. Take your g/f with you so she can pick one out. Pure breds are no guarantee unless the breeder has a track record you can verify from other owners re. health and temperment. And if you do find a reputable breeder with good references, prepare to get your wallet raped.
  18. Ship the nomination.

  19. For small dogs, I go with Scottish terrier. I love those fucking things, so much personality. love to be outside, can hike, run etc..

Not sure where you are going to get on in 16 days tho. seems like a pretty big decision to just give as a gift, have you spoken with er about it? Dogs are great, but it is like being grounded for 12 years - you might want to double check if you haven't had the talk.
  20. +1 for a shelter dog. Plus, in addition to giving her an awesome dog, you both get the amazing feeling of knowing that you saved a dog.
