I recently applied for a job with the usual covering letter and CV. They responded saying they V interested in me however they have a few more questions. There are about 5 difficult questions but the one Im asking for help on is the following:
Which of the following would you rather be and explain why;
a) A successful consultant earning £70 000 a year
b) A successful manager earning £50 000 a year
It is a professional headhunting firm who do business with some top finance groups. They are asking for a resourceful candidate I figured OT to be one of my resources :)) Any thoughts greatly appreciated; sarcasm and put-downs also welcome. X -
It's the mercenary vs, team player question. There's no wrong answer; depends on the job they're trying to fill.

Thankyou - I think its mercenary time! Im sending my answers in about 24hours if anyone has any pearls of wisdom before then :)

Most people would rather be followers than leaders, and of course they put the phony higher-income part in there as well, so you're basically putting yourself in the same group as 99% of the other candidates. There are more opportunities on the level but just don't take the income part seriously. Good luck.

they don't care which route you choose. What they are interested in is why you chose that route.

just say something like "while the manager position likely has more potential for upward movement in the organization, in todays economic climtate, the level of uncertainty leads me to beleive it is a better choice to accumulate as much capital as possible while it is availble...."
elaborate on that. Im not doing your homework
