Hi all
I m using a HP desktop, its decent quality, until yesterday i was using dual monitors.
One was a hefty LG screen (USING VGA CABLE) and the other a smaller and less vibrant acer (USING DVI CABLE) and had no problems.
I bought another LG screen identical to the one and plugged it into the dvi cable, and it came out as saying no signal. I then plugged in a HDMI cable, and that still said, no signal. I'm no computer expert and need some help with this.
$25 will be shipped via stars or tilt to the first person who can give the correct solution to me here. And thats a promise! -

Windows® Vista 1. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings
Troubleshooting: If you do not see two monitor icons, your computer might not support multiple monitors. First, make sure that you have Windows® 7, Windows® Vista®, or Windows® XP® installed. Then, visit Microsoft Update, click Custom, and install any available hardware updates. You may also need to visit your computer manufacturer's web site to install an updated display driver. If you still do not see two monitor icons, you may need to use a USB graphics adapter.

Also did you try rebooting? -
Since on first LG monitor you were using the VGA cable, have you tried the VGA on the new monitor?
Could be that you have different input display modes on the monitor like you would on a TV (I do on my dell 24"). Would be easier to give you advice if you supplied the model of the monitor. -
What video card are you using? ATI or nVidia? or onboard intel?
Depending on the video card, the manufactureres drivers differ. Also are you on XP/Vista/7? If it's XP, just right click anywhere on the desktop, hit properties. Then hit the Settings tab. Should be pictures of two screens, most likely, make sure they both are there, and checked to be on- "extend windows desktop to this monitor".
Also, you may need to toggle on the monitor itself through the different inputs. There should be a button on the monitor to do that. It will toggle through the DVI connection, VGA, and HDMI connections, etc..
