  1. Tonight is going to be one of the most emotional nights of my life. I was born and have grown up just outside of Sacramento, which automatically made me a Kings fan. As a kid I went to games, met the players, and followed the team closely as many fans do. Throughout my life my "relationship" with the organization grew, and it became more to me than just a fan rooting for his team. Whenever I would go through a tough time in my life either emotionally or with my disability, the Kings were and are the escape for me to turn to. I love the feelings I get as a fan. The ups, the downs, the rivalries, and the bonds I've built with fellow fans. I have been fortunate enough to be a season ticket holder with my grandmother for the past several years, and I am afraid of not only losing my team, but the time spent and bonds made with my grandmother. We live and die with this team, and tonight we will represent as best we can. Hopefully, just maybe, Here We Stay in Sacramento.

  2. Lakers by 15, oh and:

  3. Sucks so much, I can't imagine having one of my teams moved and am lucky that its never happened. I agree, hopefully they stay put, GL.
  4. Sucks bro. I guess you can still root for them, they are still gonna play in Cali.

  5. Norab is such a hater. Don't you like having a team to hate and root against. Use your head one time (if possible).

  6. I haven't followed a team in the NHL since the Whalers left Hartford. While it wasn't "my team" (the Red Sox were), they were the only professional team in Connecticut, so yeah, I grew up with them and it just broke my heart when they left. After you root for one team for so long, I can't see how you can ever make that same connection to another team in that league.

I miss hockey. I miss The Whale. And I miss the best post-goal music ever...

  7. from another small market team fan, good luck.
  8. Well if they do leave, you could always take Grannie to see the Rivercats for some good AAA baseball. Not the same as pro basketball, but I'm sure it'd still be a great time spent together.

Easy dizz, I hope they stay in Sac as well. Won't be the same hating them if they are in Anaheim. I hate all teams equally.

  12. I feel ya. I still haven't gotten over the Flames leaving Atlanta. I heard that a new hockey team came to town, but I'm not sure.
  13. Sucks man, hope they stay put!
  14. As if being a Kings fan weren't bad enough.

It's going to suck when the Nets move; to New York of all places.

  15. I feel your pain buddy. tonight the voice of the Cavs Joe Tait retired. its gonna be hard to imagine cavs games without him. I kinda feel like crying. and being a diehard Browns fan I know what its like to lose a team. fingers crossed for ya

  16. They are as good as gone and it will take a miracle for them to stay. I think this is going to hurt us more than people think it will. It really sucks that the Maloofs are such epic fuck ups that our whole region is going to have to pay for it, and ironic that the ballot measures in 2006 got denied because the whole region didn't wanna pay for an arena, but now that they are leaving we will all pay for it anyway. I'm so sick of hearing about all of this I hope they just hurry up and get the fuck out and get it over with. I haven't been able to get behind them since they broke the team up after our epic failures in the early 2000s.

Building a new arena if the Kings leave would be retarded and I rly hope KJ doesn't go for it. No other NBA team is going to come here anytime soon even if we do build a state of the art arena. I personally think we should try to get the A's to move here and build a ballpark in the old railyard, but I dunno how likely that is to ever happen.

the worst part of it all is that they are going to fucking LA. Ruined our hopes in dreams when we had championship caliber teams, loom over us as our big brother in the state constantly reminding of us how less awesome we are. I am really getting sick of the Lakers homers around here taunting Kings fans about them leaving, stupid motherfuckers don't realize this will affect EVERYBODY IN SAC, not just Kings fans.

Ugh now I'm tilted thanks a lot OP.

  17. this sucks. i miss phoenix.
  18. whoever said to support the River Cats is right tho, the ballpark is small and its a AAA team, I know, but there is still lots of good baseball played there. Tickets are cheap, the stadium is awesome and there have been some pretty awesome players that have rolled thru over the years, not to mention the team has won numerous AAA championships since moving here. I live right across the river from raley field and will be attending a shitload of river cats games this year and every1 else should too. Doubt the Maloofs will ever see another dime of my money.

  19. looking forward to catching some of the baseball games.
  20. LOL @ this game.
  21. GODDAMMIT DIZZ PULL THIS SHIT OUT IN OT!!!! GIMME AN EPIC LAKERS MELTDOWN!

sighhhhhhhhh... nice job surviving the 20-pt 4th quarter meltdown against the KINGS

gotta say I like what I've seen the last 2 weeks from teh Fakers

  22. don't worry res, kobe is gonna get chicken pox

  24. fuck the maloofs. I am pretty tore up about this too. I love the kings, and it seems like most of Sac has their facts wrong and their head up their ass.

The rivercats are fun to watch, but I cant follow a standball team...toooo long.

plus I live on Natomas Blvd, I literally can walk to Arco. or Powerband Pavillions. Fuck the Maloofs....

fuckin stupid ass Sacramento. Now what puts Sac on the map? Urijah Fuckin Faber? Having the 2nd worst levees in the country? being the capital of the state?

Lets just poison L.A.'s water. Just like they're stealing the Kings they steal that from us too...

  26. To be honest I was never a big fan of those two; never really card for them 1 way or another, but I'm really conflicted after watching that clip. It seems like Kings fans for the most part are polarizing themselves in 2 directions right now.

Group A is the people begging them to stay. This comprises most die hard Kings fans and the local media, grasping on to every last glimmer of hope that the Kings might stay.

Group B is the people who can't wait to see them go. These are mostly fair weather Kings fans or people who root for other teams or were never Kings fans to begin with.

The desperation has been hanging over this city like a stinky cologne recently and it's really depressing. Every time you turn on the tv or read the news there's a new story about some new screwball effort to try to keep them here and it is really sad and kind of annoying. It's like the jilted lover who begs and pleads to be taken back and won't accept the fact that it's over. Recently Chris Webber has said that he is amongst these people and has been making his own efforts behind closed doors fighting to keep the Kings in Sac, so it's not just the locals either. Webber's attitude has really changed over the years, he has gone from publically talking shit about Sac every opportunity he had when he first came here to announcing his intentions to help and his love for the city. That is the kind of effect this place has on people.

There is also a lot of anger and resentment. Most of the people here hate the Maloofs and have for a few years now. The main reason for this is the fact that they have been incompetent as businessman (running this team and the Palms into the ground) and also because of their arrogance. In 2006 the voters here soundly rejected legislation that would have built the Kings a new arena (with taxpayers money obv) mainly because the Maloofs sabotaged it. They did everything they could to get people to vote against it, refused to agree with city officials (obv cuz they wanted more money and didn't want to share stuff like parking and concessions with the city) right at the same time they made a Carl's Jr commercial where they ate a $6000 combo meal. This is a blue collar city and the people here didn't like these guys boasting about drinking $6k bottles of wine then turning around and telling us they needed us to give them millions of dollars for their team that was already back to sucking. And now they are trying to move our team away ( something they said they wouldn't do for years now) to the worst fucking place in the world to move them to because they have fucked up so badly and are so desperate for cash that they feel it is their only option left. Can you blame people for hating them?

The problem the Kings haters aren't realizing is the Kings are a major economic player for our region. Pro sports franchises are a big pull for large corporations and all of the money that is associated with them. There isn't a lot of stuff to do in Sacramento for people that aren't from here! What the fuck is going to bring people/business here? Old Sac?! Nobody gives a flying fuck about a bunch of old renovated buildings! The capitol? I mean cmon fucking Arnold was the last guy to work there how fucking special can it be? The Kings leaving is going to have a huge negative impact on our city, at the worst time possible. This is going to take a long, long time to get over and I don't see how we are going to fully recover from it.

For a long time I have been 1 of the angry people saying 'fuck em, let em go" but that clip made me realize that I was wrong. Really hope we're able to pull this one off somehow.

    /rant
