So I was on my way home tonight from talkin some poker and shootin the shit at champs. I get the to the light to turn onto my street and it turns green I turn left guy blows through the red light and smashes into my driver side. In the time it took my car to stop spinning and me to even realize what was going on he was driving away as fast as his piece of shit green 4 door something would allow him to go. Unfortunately that's all I could see in what seemed like the 2 seconds that it happened. So I'm calling out to the OT detectives for some ideas on catching this mother fucker, obviously the police aren't going to do much. Also had a witness stop but they didn't catch the lisence plate or make and model either.(I run that bad at life)

Ideas I have so far:

Call shops in the area
Take out a newpaper add offering a reward
Call places on the street to ask if they have any video footage

Would prefer a couple hours in a room with no doors with the guy but putting him in a nice cell for a while will suffice

I went out around the surrounding neighborhoods this morning and found the car and got the lisence plate number. I call the police investigation department and they basically tell me fuck you we aren't doing shit because you can't identify the driverand the prosecutor won't take on the case. They have pieces of the vehicle it can easily be proven that it's the car that hit me. I said so had I died you couldn't do anything because I couldn't identify the driver...He said "Well you aren't dead are you" Fuckin asshat..So I call my lawyer and he calls the prosecutors office and they obviously agree that we have enough to file charges. Going to take pictures of vehicle for the prosecutors office will update later on. Would love to just knock on the cock suckers door and handle it myself but that doesn't get my car paid for unfortunately.

Any ideas on how I can make this guys life a living hell legally?

Was it by a gas station or anywhere else that might have surveillance?

What about those intersection red-light cams that they have to give people tickets for running through red lights?

I dunno what it's like where you live, but where I am, there's one of those cams on a lot of the intersections around here.

You should go look if there is one of those cams on the lights over that intersection, and if there is, then call the city and tell them what happened and ask if they can help you see his shit.

Keep in mind, these redlight cameras are pretty small/lots of n00bs don't even notice them, so, even if you don't see one there, just call the city anyway just to make sure.

Ummm, call me crazy but I'd call the cops if you haven't already done so. I'm sure they can do sweeps of auto shops in the area. It shouldn't be hard to find out who did it if you know the color of the car. I'd say if the car hit you with the front of their car it'd be easy to spot a green car going into a shop with major front end damage.

Then again last time I was involved in something like this I actually had the entire license plate and the cops still didn't do shit.

You had the license plate number and you couldn't find the guy from a hit and run. I have found people for lesser offenses, screw the cops fix the issue yourself.

How recently did the light change? I got hit when turning left on a green arrow, as the light had just changed, and was deemed 50% by entering the intersection when it was unsafe to do so, as I apparently did not give time to allow the person to drive through the red light.

I couldn't see one last night but it was dark so I guess it's possible...The light was just put in less than 2 weeks ago too

I was stopped at the red light and went on green so pretty recent but I had a witness so I think I'm good there.

I'm good, suprisingly not sore no whiplash yet...Just a bruised neck from the side airbag

Worst part about this whole situation is that I just bought this car 2 weeks ago from a friend (2005 Acura TL) and I haven't even gotten the title yet. On my old car I only had liability b/c I didn't feel it was worth enough to have comprehensive and I guess I never expected a situation like this to happen. Semi good news is that my buddy that I got this car from still has insurance on it so that may cover it, I'm hoping. I'm thinking minimum 5k in damage that I really don't want to shell out of pocket.

No I was thinking just posting the description and where it happened and shooting for someone he told to possibly turn him in...He obviously has to tell someone and there may have been more than one person in the car I don't know.
