Hole in the wall

    So the last weekend I was at school i put a hole in the wall of my room. Its just a plaster wall and the hole is the size of my fist. I am going back down in the next couple months to get the last of my stuff out of the house. I don't think it will be very hard to fix (i hope). Do I just through some sort of stuff on it, what is the stuff called? How long will it take to fix it?

    you can get a drywall repair kit at any home depot/lowes/etc. shouldn't be too hard to fix.

    take a piece of wood like a good size shim then put in in the hole holding it against the back of the drywall. screw it up on the outside of the hole with drywall screws, you now have backing for a piece of drywall(you may want the cut the whole into a perfect square shape first)

    cut a matching size piece of drywall to fit into the hole. screw this piece to the backing wood. use patching mud over hole, let dry, sand smooth, paint.
