Has anyone had good look with the all-inclusive Sandals resorts?

Looking for get room for a week/flight for 2 for less than $2500 if I can.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Dominican Republic has some nice resorts on the east side of the island with warm water considering the month you'll be going.

In reality, for what you want to pay I would recommend Bocas Del Toro on the Caribbean side of Panama. Some nice places to stay in the smaller islands across from actual Bocas. Bocas is a gypsy town but the place is rad.
  4. Sandals is awesome. I stayed there in Jamaica. The staff is really friendly. Food was good and lots of activities. Depending where you are traveling from $2500 is a little light. It's a little over 3k for 6 night from Chicago.
  5. Don't know if you can make this fit your budget and I have posted about this place before. Anyway it's worth a look.

This is where we stayed a few years ago.

  6. 10,000 Plattsburgh points awarded.

I'm not sure how expensive it is, but you'd have a hard time not finding great spots in Cancun/Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen in Mexico. All-inclusive FTW.

We're going to stay at a beach front villa in St. Kitt's in a little over a month. I can't remember what rent was for the week, but it wasn't outrageous...stuff on the island seemed to be pretty cheap when we were there last year.
  7. your wifes vagina
  8. maldive islands.
  9. Also getting married in October. Just booked Sandals Antigua... can't wait. I've been to Sandals Montego Bay, Jamaica and that is also worth checking out, great experience.
  10. For some reason, Sandals has always seemed too good to be true-- Is it really all inclusive? All food and drinks taken care of?

    Tinnal-- what did you pay?

Is it better to go through a travel agent?

This would be great if it wasn't $2500 per plane ticket. Been trying to get there for a surf trip with my gf for last couple years but everytime we start to get a roll we end up going to a third world country closer to home. El Salvador in April!!

did you really love the place tho? i like the privacy of it, but everything is SOOOOOO spread out. i don't like having to walk 3 miles to get to a restaurant...or a mile to get to the beach.

also kinda sucked eating lunch with no AC in 100 degree temperatures.

i loved how secluded and private it was if you wanted to be away from everybody...also loved how it was on a preserve, so the animals would be running freely throughout the resort...but i just hated walking for miles and getting lost.
  14. I got married in Oct '07, and went to Sandals Ocho Rios for a week. Negril is more of a party spot, while Ocho is more laid back.
  15. Aruba

    then Playa Del Carmen

    But seriously Aruba
  16. www.bookit.com

Co-worker uses this site a lot to find pretty good deals.
  17. Not sure if it is still called this, but the wife and I stayed at the Encahnted Garden, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Place has three top notch restaurants, is built into the hills above the town on the site of a former botanical gardens. Beautiful setting, aviary on site, spa, regualr shuttles to a private beach. All meals and drinks included in the price. Rooms available with a jacuzzi built into your deck. AWESOME views, and lots to do nearby, like Dunn's River Falls.

    Reason: Aruba
  19. Sandals is awesome. we went last year and stayed in Negril. If you go though I'd go with the butler service. they give you a little cell phone and you can call them anytime 24/7 with any request. would def go back!

O yea, food and drinks are all-inclusive. One stipulation on the beer - only red stripe is available at Montego Bay. Luckily I like red stripe so it was all good. They always had a buffet out which was pretty nice, could just go and eat pretty good food at any time. They also had 6 or so different resturants, so we ate at a different one each night. The resort location is literally right behind the airport which is pretty annoying but you get used to it. I can't comment on the price and travel agent as I was a wedding guest and didn't have to pay for shit
  23. Fiji. One place I really want to go back to, but not alone... seems pretty perfect for your needs. You'll have to find your own resort though...
  24. Going here first full week of March for my buddys destination wedding:

    http://www.secretsresorts.com/silversands/

Rooms are all suites, service is top notch, booze is top shelf, 8 different restaurants, no kids, I cannot fricken wait.

Booked through Apple vacations for around $2600 (9 days, eight nights)

    Congrats!

I'm jealous and it's not of you getting married
  26. Never been to Mexico, but doing Playa Del Carmen end of March for our Wedding.
The resort has a golf course on site (Robert Van Hague designed), which is included.
As well, any food and/or beverage consumed at the golf course is included.
    Pretty pumped.
I don't think you can wrong on a hot vacation, unless you are a miserable person.

I will add that Jamaican weed was way better than I thought it would be.
I was in Runaway Bay last year, but would like to go back to Negril (best white sand beaches).

    Hahaha thanks!

Ours is all inclusive at the renaissance in Aruba and we got a week for $1500, so pretty sweet deal. Might be worth looking into at the very least

I went there a couple years ago and stayed at SeaShell @ Mona. Why out in the boondocks but cheap and rad. Some of the world's best scuba diving is right in front of the reef there and if you surf you're a 20 minute boat ride to Tavarua.
