    "Bubba's 55 Favourite Films" is currently stalled at #36, and I'm assuming on page 7 by now. I'm swamped with school work for the next few days, and won't be able to make any full entries to my list. Instead, I'm going to make up a few quick banners that will simply represent these two categories:

    Honourable Mentions: These are films that just missed the list, and I love them almost as equally as the higher entries. Thesewere really hard to leave off the list, and on another day they very well could have been included.

    Full Metal Jacket
    Taxi Driver
    Goodfellas

    Snubs: These are films that I think are held in high regard by many people, and I am certainly in the minority with my dislike for them. These entries, I would think, are going to get some pretty fierce feedback.

    Pulp Fiction
    American Beauty
    Natural Born Killers

    I'll just be doing a some of these until I get back to the real list, which is linked below if you haven't yet come across it.

    I cant believe Adventures in Babysitting was not on your list. This deserves honorable mention fo sure.

    I loved both of those movies, I though the "Bonnie Situation" in pulp fiction was one of the best acts in a movie i've ever seen

    Lol....it took 2 responses longer than I expected for me to get flack for not liking Pulp Fiction. Unless of course you were speaking generally.

    I think ur snubs, by definition, would almost require fierce feedback.
    Full Metal Jacket is good. More so the first section than the second
    I dont agree with ur dislike of Pulp Fiction. Its narrative innovation alone is significant. Well I wont get into it, Youve probably heard it before. I'm wondering why?

    I was really more doing this because I don't have the time to get into the analysis of the actual list, so I honestly don't can't spend the time getting into it - at least not to the point where I think you would understand. I supose it might have been the wrong thing to do, considering I am the worst when it comes to demanding that people support their opinions, and that means I'm being very hypocritical right now.

    I have to at least give it a shot. Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate Pulp Fiction, and I do recognize that it is well made and that Tarantino is both talented and original. Having said that, I can honestly say that none of his films are anywhere near my favourites, because I simply do not enjoy them. The basis of it is I don't like Tarantino's style. Nothing about his movies engage me, at all. The story, the acting, the writing, the music. It's not that they are bad, and I could see how some could call Pulp Fiction brilliant in all of those areas, but it just has not appealed to me either of the times I've watched it. It's difficult to explain without actually going and watching the movie and having it fresh in my mind, but maybe one of these days I'll do that so I can go into more detail and give you a better explanation.

    Lol, I just wanted to tell you that your use of ellipsis the end of almost every single post you make (at least in response to me) rattles me probably a LOT more than it should. I never know what the heck you mean by it.

    You really hate Toy Story that much that you can't fathom it being one of my favs?

    HA! Ellipsis? You mean ......? Is that what they are called? Huh..never give that a second thought actually...that's just the way I type.

    I don't hate Toy Story. I saw it once, it was cute, and I moved on. Not in my top 55, that's all....

    My Top 55 would be a little different than most, I think.

    I thought for awhile that our tastes in movies were somewhat similar, but I'm learning otherwise as we go along. Nothing at all wrong with that.....(there I go again....)

    p.s. 3-1 Leafs after 2. We're screwed.

    I think a common complaint with Tarantino is that their is no attachment to his characters. His characters are cool, but arent worth caring for. He's great with dialogue and story/ plot structure. His movies often lack a central figure that the plot revolves around or hinges on. Kill Bill doesnt have these problems, in my view. Anyway I think he has some great work. But this is a brief review of what Ive heard.

    Anyways, what the hell is wrong with the Leafs. Not that I'ma big fan, but last night was BRUTAL. You and I both know that they don;t even deserve to make the playoffs if they blow games like that.

    I really like Full Metal Jacket. It would probably be just outside my top 55 also.

    Tarantino certainly has a unique style and I can understand how some people just don't like it. I happen to love Pulp Fiction though. The right soundtrack can add so much to a film and, in my opinion, Tarantino is one of the best in this area. His dialogue is also incredible.

    Would I be right in thinking that Reservoir Dogs missed out too?

    I actually haven't seen it, but if it's anything like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Jackie Brown I doubt it would. I probably shouldn't assume though - for all I know it could be the one Tarantino that I do end up liking. I'm not denying that the guy has talent, and I'm probably as surprised as anyone that I'm not a big fan of his, but if I'm going to be honst with my list, instead of spitting out a bunch of stuff that everybody loves, Tarantino just isn't going to make it.
