    Gold closed today at 902.90 an ounce, so your looking at roughly 11 ounces, not much

    Depends on the type of gold that you buy. You may not want to store it at your home. Many people use a dealer/company to store it for them or a safe deposit box. The US Mint has a list of authorized gold dealers, which can be found here:http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/...on=AuthSellers

    A few of my friends have used Kitco for awhile now, and there is Gold Forum at kitco.com that you may check out. Good luck!

    thanks for the help and that sucks i really wanted a few gold bars :P So I guess the coins n stuff is 2nd best option

    You should be able to buy bars, Homie. Just do your due diligence and use a reputable place is my only advice. I don't know how long you plan to hold it/store it etc. etc. I just remembered this was another popular forum: http://gold-eagle.com

    bars coin gold silver platinum etc. if you want the gold in your own hands and i would advise against storing in a bank box or through a a middleman, but i'm paranoid like that.

    apmex for small purchases, nwtmint for bigger stuff - or you could always support your local shops as all of them should have 11 ounces in stock.

    Go to www.nwtmint.com, and make sure you stay out of store.nwtmint.com if you're buying it all at once. Shop around, there are a bunch of good sites that deliver and you can get 8% back in 60 days from live.com if you find something close to spot on eBay.

    EDIT: It's weird to look at this and realize it's $280k

    We recently had a client that ordered 100k worth. He plans to buy his way across international borders when society collapses. You could carry 10k in gold in your jeans pocket btw.

    lol you want a "few" gold bars...umm ok well all u have to do is win the sunday mil about 6 weeks in a row and u can get a few bars...as far as bricks go as stated above there 27lbs so if you hit the powerball u have a shot
