you suck at owning a dog, or else he/she would have come home fucking idiot.
do the dogs a favor and dont get another! -
Dude, just stop. You're ridiculous. Accidents happen. I'm sure you're absolutely perfect, and all, but get off your high horse FFS.
-
lol, yeah, one was an accident and the other you put your old cat outside to get mauled and eaten by coyotes.

definitely not the same thing, I agree, you fucking hypocrite stooge. -
Ucantbeatmeats massive trolling in this thread makes me regret my troll statement and that rarely happens. Hope you find your dog man
-
ucantbeatthemeat has made a good point even if he comes across as douchey, I do everything in my power to ensure my dog is safe, and that includes double checking to make sure the doors are closed and locked. I feel bad that u guys have to go thru this, but seriously its a lesson learned. hope u find your pup. please call other shelters and animal control in surrounding towns. I have a family member that works as an animal control officer and he picked up a shar-pei in the neighborhood, its a no kill shelter so they were holding this dog for almost 2 months before it was adopted into a new family, just makes ya wonder though how someone could lose their dog and not actively seek it. I felt so bad for that dog, nobody ever called looking for it, and it was a super nice dog.

Me too Moonlight..thats why I clicked on it again..just to find some shenanigans going on.

Third. WTF is going on in here now?

the difference is I dont put anyone else at risk, how many 13 y/o cats have killed children? How many unleashed pitbulls have killed children?
yes im being a troll but irresponsible pit owner suck. If you have ever worked with young dogs you would know this! -
looooooooool, put, allowed to go out, keep telling yourself it's not your fault if it makes you feel better.

you allowed your 13 yo cat to go out and be eaten by coyotes that you knew were out there, hypocrite. he made a mistake. you had a policy of letting your cat go out to face the known dangers of the coyotes in the area and it was mauled and eaten, well played awesome pet owner, why don't you tell us all some more about how to be responsible pet owners. -
You should figure out which point you're trying to troll over before starting your argument, otherwise it just ends up looking kinda ridic - or maybe you just fail at delivering your message concisely - generally it's older unneutered male pits that haven't been raised properly that attack children, not friendly female puppies that were being raised in loving homes and accidentally got out - but anyway, your point could have easily been made without you trolling out all over this thread

ucantbeatthemeat is smokerocking all over this thread.
leave dude...leave and don't come back. -
Even though OP is normally an insensitive D-nozzle, I don't really think he is a bad dog owner because his pit got out. I've had dogs since I was child and they get off leash sometimes, it's inevitable.
That said, I can't really speak to how well the dog was trained. BY 4 months it should should have a really good call and response. If he was working with the dog and preparing for this eventuality, then his odds of him losing the dog are much less. I don't know the level of training, but shit happens. The last time my dogs got out was 3 years ago, exact same situation. We forgot to lock the deadbolt and the wind blew the door open, wife was in the back on the computer I was on the tread mill. As I said earlier they were gone for 30 min max and the only reason I found them is because when my girl heard me calling her, she started flipping out when she couldn't come running to me - she was tied up in some one else yard.
If he does get another dog, the first thing to teach it is "come" and then "stay". My dogs are 6 y.o. now and I still practice these responses with them on a weekly basis. -
ok i know when im beat sorry for tooling out. I have worked at my local shelter and have literally seen 12+ pits a day come and go, Most are put down and it makes me upset.
eyeknows I didnt allow my cat to do anything, he came and went as pleased. you can be a piece of shit as much as you want, he died on his own terms, not mine. -

that's says what you should do if you lose a pet, i think I read that you did most if not all already. Goodluck finding your dog. I can't imagine the feeling. -
just giving you some of what you are dishing, we let our cats come and go as they please too (no coyotes near or they wouldn't be going out at night freely). you were being an asshat with very little reason, OP made a mistake, you didn't need to tool-out about your personal issues at OP's expense, he really didn't do anything to deserve it.

They are obv not free if you stop them when the coyotes are out. okok ill stop bein an asshole now.

Going to try to get hired at austin fire department this time next year. The offshore work should look good on my resume and also the 2 weeks off allows me to play poker on the side when I am home. My dad is a drilling engineer with exxonmobil and hooked me up with a contact. I think it sounds pretty fun and the money is really solid as opposed to working some 10/hr job to get my work experience.
