I'm a huge UFC fan but wouldn't mind seeing another promotion compete with UFC. Competition brings the best out of everyone. That said how long before Strikeforce goes under? Fedor is there best guy but his own management team came out and exposed the reason he did not come to the UFC. M1 Co-Chairman Alexis Valtongueinassovich said "If we would of known Lesnar's intestines were screwed up we would of went to the UFC. Lesnar to big for Fedor. Fedor needs easy fights like Tank Abbott or Robbie Lawler. Lesnar has giant bear hands he crush Fedor skull. Death to the west."
Not sure about you guys but that doesn't seem like the best fighter in the world to me. -
yea lol@ anyone turning down 30million for 5 fights cuz they want to "co promote" obv way more then that..

I hope Strikeforce stays around, they put on a decent shot (not to be confused with the fights), and the fights are fantastic.
(Not a fan of Frank Shamrock commentating as sometimes he and the other guy says some really stupid stuff and stuff that isn't even relevant to the fight whatsoever!)
But, unfortunately, they are now attached to M-1 Global which'll suck em dry. Just like they did to Affliction and a few other organizations they've been associated with.
M-1 and Fedor were unbelievably stupid to turn down $30,000,000 (reported, unofficially, I think, or something like that) 5 fight contract with an immediate title shot. He might have also gotten a cut of the PPV as well, which would have made it even more ridiculous. Their co-promoting crap has got to stop as they're not really doing shit.
Hope Strikeforce stays around, imo. -
well Dana White responded, "I'm happy the media reported our $5million dollar offer as $30 million, makes us look a lot better. Plus Lesnar is still soooo hurting from his win against Mir. It's well known that Fedor would chump change Lesnar. Fedor can prolly withstand a hammerfist and Lesnar sucks at everything but being giant sized."

Okay, if the above is correct, that sounds a bit more believable.
$5,000,000 for 5 fights I'm positive is more then he's getting now, and I'm sure that a PPV cut would also have gotten him another couple million per fight. The offer given to Fedor was, by far, (according to Dana and a press conference call he had) the biggest he's ever offered any fighter.
Getting $1,000,000 guarantee to show is 2x as much as any other fighter in the UFC (to my knowledge) as Chuck Liddell gets only $500,000 and a few others get the same. -
agree that Strikeforce should gut it out. Recent either Yahoo or ESPN article showed the business plan for about going for TV fights and only a couple PPV a year.

M-1, TNA, and other groups are attached to the fighters not strikeforce. because they are non-exclusive they might have trouble filling cards but they only share money per fighter.
Frank Shamrock is annoying, but JESAHUS he isn't close to Rogan's ingnorance. I prefer UFC's team, but they are far the dipshittier of the two. Rogan can't get a left hook and straight right correct. rant/ -
soo can someone tell me is bobby doing tna and mma? or going back to mma now?
-
both

He won't be on TNA for long. I'm assuming he pissed off alot of Spike TV people when he signed with Strikeforce. Not sure how much pressure TNA is going to get from Spike to drop Lashley to keep the UFC happy. That said maybe the UFC doesn't care right now and figures Lashley will be in the UFC when Strikeforce goes under.

thats what i was thinking..i dont see him doing both 1 injury at tna he cant fight one fight injury he cant do tna lol..gotta pick

I still liked Pride a lot, the MMA fans in Japan are great. No one boo's when they get a take down and the fucking HUGE crowd turn outs were insane, MMA fighters there were big celebrities. Such a large and respectful martial arts community in Japan. I kinda felt like it was a minus for MMA when UFC bought pride (awesome business decision obviously) while it brought epic match ups (chuck vs wandy, anderson silva, shogun etc...) I just liked the Pride organization and shows more. Ring fights are a great dynamic if your more into striking as were the Pride rules while the UFC has the cage and is regulated by athletic commissions (thank god for that so we dont have a bunch of fucking bob sapp's and kevin roidlemans running around) which means they have to go by stricter rules

If they were to fail now would be the time, having a fight in Sunrise FL ended EliteXC and now Strikeforce is here too lol, I might try and get tickets and go to this since its right down the street from my house. Herschel Walkers debut and Cyborg....I dunno

LOL good one.
