  1. I won a brand new PRS SE Singlecut electric guitar recently which I think is valued around $800. The guitar is signed by Alter Bridge, the breakoff band from Creed minus Scott Staph.

Have a guy thats a huge Mark Tremonti fan (lead guitarist for Alter Bridge) that wants to buy it, but I have no idea how much to ask for.

Any body have any experience w/ stuff like this?

edit: I've obviously played the guitar almost non-stop since winning it 2 weeks ago, but still in perfect condition
  2. Id ask for $1500 and go from there. Assuming the guitar alone is worth $800? Either way, nice work winning it.... Can I ask how you won it exactly?
  3. overcharge, but definitely throw in a few air guitars to help seal the deal
  4. Make up an interested 3rd party and have this fictional character outbid your friend untill you get like 3K out of him.
  5. wait a minute, are you trying to tell us that having the guitar signed by Creed minus Scott Staph INCREASED the value? I have to call bullshit here, sorry.

edit: nice to see MrBQ in the hizzy...
  6. I think you would be VERY lucky to get new market value out of it.

    I'd say around $500.
  7. Hmm... $1500 sounds alot better than $500, maybe i'll start around 1k and see what he thinks.

Fife, I won it in a Guitar Hero contest ldo. Also won a new 360 and like $500 in random shit.

  8. Well sure $1500 sounds better then $500.

Guitars are like cars though in that they loose a tremendous amount of value when they leave the store.

I think as far as real value your guitar even though won would probably follow this trend too.

You might be able to hang him for that amount but its hard to beleive anyone would be that big of a fan. I mean that is one expensive signature for a at most semi popular guitar player. Especially because he would never be able to turn around and sell it for that much.

    Thats just my oppinion though.
  9. tell him that the guitar itself is $800 and then ask him what he thinks would be a fair price. people will usually throw a number out that is in you ballpark or higher. you can always counter higher. the fact that the guitar costs $800 will get you far more than you should. i think you'd be lucky to get $500 from a random buyer or a place like ebay.
  10. LMFAO at value going from $800 to $1500 because Alter Bridge signed..prob be lucky to get 1k
  11. Who signed it? LOL

The guitar is the only value and even then it is maybe $500. With that said it looks as you have found the one fan. Go for 1K...
