    Manswers just had a thing about panhandlers (rerun obv) and some guy made his living apparently panhandling.

    How much do you think could make a day on avg. in your own town and/or what would be your go to sign/look/story?

    you can crush it if you are a young mom. Grab the kids go to gas station in a rich town and ask for $ for diapers. Heck you wouldn't even need to have kids, you could do a daycare panhandling double dip into societies pocket.

    It depends on what they have going for them ( in terms of sympathy factor ) and where they are. High traffic areas can be very profitable at times for some. I know of a guy that panhandled near where I used to work who would consistently pull in $50+ a day and it wasn't uncommon for him to make $100-$200 in a single day, especially around the holidays.

    Friend did this for a day in Austin and wrote a paper on it (for journalism class I think). He made almost 200 bucks.

    NZ tv show went to Melbourne and did it there, made AU$300 (not including coffee and a muffin) in 3 hours

    If you left all your dignity aside, I'm sure you could easily sustain yourself.

    I had a buddy a few years ago that hitchhiked from Colorado to Florida and actually made money doing it (something like $50 profit). Somehow he picked up a dog along the way, which probably helped him get rides, but I was amazed that he could travel across the country with no money and actually come out ahead. He stunk like bigfoot's dick, but that's besides the point.

    idk but my mom once gave a 100 dollar bill to a homeless lady who was panhandling on christmas day. it was very funny, there was a car full of ppl and we were like wtf you just gave her 100, and we all looked back at the lady as we were drivin off and she was for real fist pumpin and packing her stuff up, i guess she was done for the day.

    since I know almost everyone in downtown Decatur I would rape heaps the first day. I think there would huge diminishing returns after that tho. By the 2nd week I would be lucky to make $5 a day.

    The only problem would be the dangers of being out there.

    No question in my mind some beggars on in Toronto make well over 200/day only issue is they have a 250/day meth habit

    And homeless in topical climates have it east try cutting your teeth out there while sleeping on a grate all night when it's -20

    I know of a Captain that use to panhandle in NYC on layovers. He use to make about $200/day.
