    I hear you. I lived in San Francisco in 1998 and was paying $1300/month for a studio back then.

    Up here in sunny Montana the average rent is about $350/bedroom ($300 if you have a "W '04" bumper sticker on your truck).

    Last year I lived in a studio apartment and paid $450

    This year me and my roomate are splitting $775 a month for a 2BR/2bath apartment

    by the end of the year i will be making about 30-35k which isnt alot but enough for me to live on and save up some money. i plan on moving out west, colorado to be exact. then hopefully in a year or two join the police force.

    Mortgage/taxes/maintenance/insurance= 2K /mo 900sq ft condo in nice downtown area of Miami

    The place is gr8 but 900sqft is sooooooper small. At least it's mine...

    Holy mortgage payments. Makes me feel better about living up here in the wild west (Montana). $1550/month for my full mortgage payment, and I live in one of the nicer parts of town.

    I've thrown this offer out before, but I will gladly advise all of OT on mortgage-related questions/issues. I'm a mortgage banker by day and have a wealth of knowledge/useless acronyms. PM me for details.
