How hard was it to deal with the blatant racism that still exists when you decided to be with a "non-white" as your significant other.

Also -

Do you think your kids will encounter racism because their parents are "mixed?"

My little brother and I always played stud for pennies and candy when we were little. When I got to college I started playing stud @ Gila River in Phoenix, and eventually had to transition to Hold 'em. Love poker. Never been very good at it, and when I finally decided to buckle down and get better I got knocked up and lost the free time I had to study :) But that's ok.

I have made some wonderful friends in OT, which sounds odd, but it's true. Over the 3+ years I have posted on p5s I have been thru some very rough stretches and I have been able to call someone from OT and cry or get a pep talk or whatever and they have helped me end up a very happy person :)

Pics are around. Not many exist of me in my current fatty state, but when I finish losing bebe weight I'll picwhore it up bc that is how i roll.

I have 3 boys. December 05 and June 08 (twins).

Well, because I'm in Albuquerque I've never really run into any racism with regard to my being with a Hispanic guy. It's predominately Hispanic here, especially in the part of town we live. Racism aside, there are sometimes awkward moments where I realize that my "culture" is very different from his. It has led to some difficulties along the line but nothing we could not work through.

I don't see my kids running into any trouble, but to be honest I don't ever even consider it. Sometimes something will happen and I'll turn to Anthony and say, "Weird, you know, WE are a 'bi-racial' couple..." But I don't think of it that way, ever, unless someone else mentions it to us or brings it up. Anthony's always just been Anthony to me and our kids are just beautiful. Everyone will end up all mixed up in the end anyhow :D

I would like to work again eventually. I have my BA but I am working towards my Masters. I never imagined myself a mother at all, but once I got pregnant I chose to have children and I feel very blessed. Staying home has been amazing and very, very challenging on a lot of levels. It's emotionally a weird place to be, I feel very distant from people a lot because I spend so much time with my kids. And I'm not a "Mommy" mom since I never wanted kids so hanging out in mommy & me playgroups and such makes me retch.
I would like to go back to dealing or teaching, primarily so we can afford to live a little more and save up more for our kids college years, and hopefully pay for private school bc ABQ schools are shit.

yes, all kinds, is there a specific one you mean?

i love puppies but i don't like big dogs much. i need me a quiet-ish small-ish dog like a pug or beagle that won't yap at me all day or poop mountains. i think i prefer cats because they are much more low-maintence and i have enough to do.

It was actually REALLY good! The energy was incredible... it was like maybe losing LeRoi made them actually believe in their own oft-repeated message, "Celebrate we will, for life is short but sweet for certain." It was awesome. Saw a song debut live, too, which was fun, and they played some surprises for me :)
