Yesterday I sent in my Intent to Graduate form since I am graduating from Missouri State this December with my degree in hospitality and Restaurant Administration. I ran my degree audit to make sure I had everything in line, which I was sure I did. When my audit comes back, it says I still have 7 classes (All Gen Eds) to take, and that I can't graduate until Dec. 2011. I about threw up at the thought of having to go though another 3 semesters of school. I talked to my department head today, and she just emailed me saying she waived all the classes except one. So starting in October when the 2nd block starts, I will be taking Religion 101, and will still get to graduate in December!!! I feel like a million bucks right now!!!

lol religion 101

So fucking dumb. I'm glad it worked out for you but how the fuck is taking a religion 101 class at this point, with your major, going to make ANY difference? It's essentially you paying for however many credit hours this class is and that's it. Or is there some way that you wouldn't be able to properly represent your degree without this class? I'm sure others with your degree are far more capable and qualified than you because of the gen ed classes they took. Again, awesome that you got most of them waived but why the fuck not just waive them all?

Edit: considering your degree, I would recommend a refresher course in Spanish while you're at it

Well they got waived because I had taken them in some other form...just not the ones the university wanted. I had taken Chem 106 which is/was a required Gen ed...Well my audit said I had to take Chem 105 which the only difference is 105 has a lab attached to it, and 106 doesn't. I don't mind taking this class at all, and I agree it doesn't really have any bearing on my degree, but whatever...Tuition is cheap here so it's not all bad.
