  1. Your $40 will be shipped within the hour sir....this is a sad, terrible day for republicans and I for one will not be voting in the GE. Although, as I said it doesnt matter since I live in Mass anyway...

I hope McCain wins, but I hope he dies in office...he's a sleezy scumbag, and FAARRRR too liberal for me, but at least hes not a communist/socialist.

  2. name the McCain positions you do not agree withsupermoves
  3. 1.) Rush doesnt like him
    2.) No need for a #2
  4. lets not pile on here...he's just lost $40 and all of his hopes and dreams to a bunch of baby killers...
  5. First of all I HATE Rush, hes a giant (literally) tool.

I will give you the three things I hate most about McCain

    1) He is for open boarders (or at least Amnesty)

    2) He wants higher taxes (he voted for them 3 times)

    3) He used extreamly dirty tactics this election

*edit* He also feels that it should be illegal for incumbant politicians to be criticized 90 days before an election. I have no idea what thats about, but its a really terrible idea and one of the fundamental principles of this country is free speech.

  6. Open borders
    Amnesty for illegals
    Higher taxes

    the list goes on.
  7. Everything about this post illustrates why supermoves should never be listened to...
  8. BJ04, would you please state your age and any credentials you have for being politically knowlegable? Ya...thats what I thought.

  9. explain open borders.
Do you mean guest workers program or not securing our borders.

and was it really that bad that he wanted the original bush tax cuts to be directed to middle class, not top 1 or 10 percent?
  10. super...where do you hear/read/get this info?
  11. While McCain is a hero and a patriot, he's completely delusional on many important issues and is pretty much a democrat. Also, from those that I've spoke to who know him, he can be a real asshole and his temperment may not be appropriate for the president of the US.

As much I dislike McCain, the thought of Hillary is truly frightening.

    OBAMA PLEASEEEEEE

  12. As someone who hasnt kept up with this stuff until very recently, can I ask for you to name this "list that goes on"? Everytime someone says something against him, they list those three things and say theres plenty more.. its just nobody ever says anything more.

Could you also list some things of his that you DO agree with? (because you obviously cant dislike EVERYTHING he is for)
  13. Just go read his website (john mccains that is) under the immigrant section, someone even posted it in another thread. It would seem to me that he thinks anyone should be able to come here and do anything and get government services, for free of course...guess thats why he wants to raise my taxes..

  14. Hey, thanks man. I know this wasn't a fun post for you to write. Underdog1969 on stars.

Say what you want about supermoves (and we all do!) but he keeps his word.
  15. Hey, I know their last few albums have been a little generic, and sure they're getting older, but Rush is still the best band from Canadia since....huh? what..? Oh...never mind.
  16. I posted it...and it didn't say that.
  17. I list those three issues because they are all that matter to me. One thing I do agree with is his stance on the military. He believes it should be strong, and that we have gone about this war incorrectly. He also believes that the only people who can tell us when to pull troops out are the generals on the ground there. That I agree with.

  19. <H3> McCain knocks Bush's tax-cut proposal</H3>
    By Jill Lawrence, USA TODAY

DURHAM, N.H. - A tax-plan duel between John McCain and George W. Bush, the two leading contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, took on new intensity as the GOP field prepared to meet here Thursday for a debate.

"McCain's Mature Vision for America's Future v. Bush's Political Plan for the 2000 Election," was the headline on a compare-and-contrast "backgrounder" that McCain aides distributed Wednesday after McCain delivered a speech about political civility.

The Arizona senator won't lay out a comprehensive tax plan until Tuesday. However, taxes are bound to be debated tonight and could evolve into a defining issue for the Republican presidential contenders, much like health-care coverage in the Democratic campaign.

McCain moved in that direction Wednesday with a critique of Bush's five-year, $483 billion tax-cut plan. The background sheet said Bush's plan would "leave Social Security in danger."

McCain described the Bush plan as unwise and potentially harmful to low- and middle-income Americans. He told reporters after his speech that Bush would "use the entire (budget) surplus for tax cuts," which "ignores the importance of the Social Security trust fund, the importance of making it solvent, making a down payment on Medicare and starting to pay down the (federal) debt."

Asked if he views Bush's plan as irresponsible, McCain said, "I believe that it's far more responsible to make sure that you save the Social Security trust fund," to pay future benefits for retirees. He warned that Bush's plan doesn't set aside any expected future surpluses as insurance against future shortfalls in the Social Security trust fund. If such money wasn't available, he said, "you're going to have to either have the trust fund go broke or raise the payroll taxes. That's the worst damage you could inflict on average Americans."

In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Wednesday, Bush defended the fairness of his plan, which would double the current $500 annual child tax credit and cut the lowest income tax rate from 15% to 10%.

"My plan recognizes those who live on the outskirts of poverty and work hard to get into the middle class. It will knock down the toll booth to the middle class," Bush said.

Bush started the latest round of bickering over tax plans on Tuesday by saying he would do more than McCain for those at the low end of the income scale. The Texas governor said his plan would save a family of four making $50,000 a year nearly $2,000, compared with $200 under a proposal McCain made last year.

When McCain lays out his plan Tuesday, he will focus his tax cuts on working families in the bottom three-fifths of income brackets. He is expected to propose broadening the bottom 15% tax bracket to cover a couple's first $70,000 of taxable income. In 1999, the first $43,050 of a couple's taxable income was taxed at that rate. Income between $43,050 and $70,000 was taxed at 28%.

McCain says he would pay for his tax cuts by closing special-interest tax loopholes, cutting wasteful spending and using 23% of the federal budget surplus. The rest of the surplus would be divided this way: 62% to shore up the Social Security trust fund, 10% for Medicare and 5% for paying down the national debt.

In addition, McCain supports a permanent ban on taxing Internet sales. Bush has not ruled out such taxes after a moratorium expires in 2004. And McCain, like Bush, supports allowing individuals to put a small percentage of their Social Security savings into private investments.

McCain also said Wednesday that the tone of the GOP race is more positive than on the Democratic side and in keeping with his call Wednesday for the 2000 candidates to "lead by example."

"I think we've conducted our campaign with laudable civility, particularly when you compare it to what's going on between Bradley and Gore.

"I've not accused anyone of taking out Medicaid or bringing on a recession, although I believe if Gov. Bush were elected, it would be the end of Western civilization as we know it," he said with a laugh.
  20. I'm really not familiar with his voting record on taxes but if he only voted to raise taxes 3 times in his entire political career arent you kinda misstating his position. I'm sure the issue of a tax raise has come up scores of times while he has been in Congress. Its pretty unfair to make am abiguous claim like that without putting his votes into context.

  21. Nah, no need to do that since I already posted that greatest hits thing yesterday. ;)

Basically, he showed his frustration today because he hates John McCain. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

  26. Sen. McCain Said He Would "Clearly" Not Support Extending The Tax Cuts. NBC's TIM RUSSERT: "Since the Civil War, every president who has been at war has increased taxes. Should the president consider postponing his tax cut?" SEN. MCCAIN: "I would have I voted against the tax cuts because of the disproportionate amount that went to the wealthiest Americans. I would clearly support not extending those tax cuts in order to help address the deficit. But the middle-income tax credits, the families, the child tax credits, the marriage tax credits, all of those I would keep." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 4/11/04)
  27. Hello! <Cymbals crash> Ok, I'm done, folks. Tip your waiters and waitresses and I'll be here all week!
  28. Age? Slightly older than you.

Credentials? I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for here. But I have plenty of intelligence, knowledge and experience to back up the ideas that I put forward. And the kicker is I can put them together in sentences that make sense to the average reader.
  29. I have a HUGE problem with the Dems definition of "wealthy".

And the "wealthy" pay the most...and I dont mean $ amount, I mean %. The people in the 43%+ tax bracket deserve tax breaks more than those paying 20 or 23%. Im not sure how you could argue that. You think its right that someone makes 250k brings home the same amount as someone who makes 120k because the tax bracket bumps up? Thats rediculous...

"I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle class Americans who most need tax relief."
