1. As you are one of OT's resident good guys, it's good to see that it looks like things are going to work out. Bureaucracy, and basically jobs (and people) that serve little to no purpose, piss me off to no end. L O Motherfucking L at "the list is not all-inclusive," that should pretty much be reason alone to get her shitcanned. But that's not your fight...

Good luck with the rest of this, Doctor Muppet.

  3. wow i just read this, really happy everything worked out for you!!! so sick! i mean i was really upset last night, but now i'm thinkin my shit ain't that big of a deal.
  4. So you didn't get fired?
  5. that made my stomach hurt
  6. sounds like you got the raw deal, until everything sorta worked itself out. thread title was a little misleading

now what would be hilarious is if you have tb
  7. HR people are heartless scum. End of story.
  8. read up to the point where you found out they'd reverse the termination, and you're waiting on test results. not sure if you've decided on your plan of revenge on the HR lady yet, but i've always been a fan of the use of feces in situations such as this. i would also kidnap the person she loves 3rd most in the world and hold them hostage in a dark basement for 14 days, with the only things near them being two buckets. one bucket would be for bodily waste, and the other would contain cold, 3 day old creamy chicken ramen noodles. every time the hostage cries out for help, you whisper "HR lady is responsible for this" into the cold darkness. at the end of the 14 days, blindfold the hostage and drop them off in public area where you know they'll find their way home. years of therapy may cure the damage you've done, but they'll always resent the HR lady for this, and God help anyone who tries to feed them ramen noodles.

  12. I guess I'm the only one who laughs at this, although the HR lady sounds like a major cunt (this is what I picture most of OT being like @ their jobs)

  13. i bet this could somehow be rewritten as the basis for an episode of scrubs, but funnier
  14. Prolly felt good to write the story down.

I think i want to shoot that HR woman.

  15. What if your employer sees you talking shit and bashing your job and people you work with in the hospital? Combine that with the fact people are making racist comments at the HR woman--Just a thought

i've only worked for one company that was big enough to have an HR department, and the lady that i always dealt with was the absolute tits, she called me on my cell phone after i had worked there for 90 days and warned me that i needed to speak up about getting my benefits or they would not kick in, then when they tried giving me shit about it and saying that i wasnt marked as full time in my file (altho i'd been working 50hr weeks), she went to the mat for me, any time i had a problem it seemed like it was her life purpose to fix it for me

i've been under the assumption that all HR people were this awesome

how much longer are you going to be there? are you going to need her for anything between now and then/when you leave? i'm in favor of filing a formal complaint, but only if it isn't going to affect you in any way possible - it's seriously fucked up that she almost cost you your job over this, esp when she was partially negligent in her duties

smart way to play it is to do nothing and move forward with your career. From the perspective of your goals, that's the way to do it.

I would probably try to mess with her, but there's no benefit other than revenge and feeling good about the retribution. Think of your wife and baby and how focusing on your best career move will help them, and bury it in your memory banks.... imo.

  24. i don't need her for anything. the only consideration is if something went on my permanent record that i got suspended or something. every time you apply for a medical license in another state or apply for a new job as a physician, you are asked if you have ever been suspended. i never was told i got suspended or anything, so i'm not sure what to think.

  25. If you ask me tbs might be the best possible blemah on a resume, you handeled it perfectly.

A lot of interviews ask for an example of a "situation" at your last work IMO and obv you will be asked about this sin e it will be on your record. Calmer heads truly do prevail.

Also I read a book from a guy who stayed at Alcatraz and he became a raiolodist so I'm not impressed

don't think his wife was as hot tho
  26. i'm still picking my jaw up from the floor from hearing you almost got fired for not taking a tb test. wow. you are a doctor for christ sakes. look how far you've come from all your schooling, to residency, to where you are now...and you almost got fired for a stupid tb test?! i seriously am in awe right now.

obv glad everything worked out...but i can't believe it even went as far as it did.

  29. I feel for you and hope it all gets figured out...but honestly I think it is a really bad idea to be sharing this with OT. We have seen many times in the past that venting like this might end up getting you into more trouble than helping out your mental attitude. I hope it all works out man, you deserve it.

Just read the rest of the thread because I missed it last week...glad it worked out...I think you should do nothing about it until you are finished with the program. If by that time you are still pissed about the whole thing than stick it to her.

Remember, if it doesn't make you money and it doesn't make you happy, don't do it.
