I really didn't hate them when the moves where made. Now the espn coverage just tilts me. Every night they give updates and interviews to them, fuck, stop it. I don't give a shit, they are one of 28 teams. Treat them like any other team, please!
Edited By: FadeToMac Nov 3rd, 2010 at 08:47 AM
on the bottom line, they give every other team's scores, for the heat, they break down who scored. Fuck, I don't care. I care about the rockets, i want their breakdown, i don't give a shit if lebron had 6 assist.
espn is almost unwatchable nowadays. It's like one of those tabloid shows. Any time you have ed werder reporting from anywhere, i change the channel. Anytime Mort comes on, i change the channel. ed werder reports that favre, "expects to play on sunday." no shit, any athlete expects to play. And mort is just a gossip diva.
When are they gonna learn we are, or maybe just I am, sick of favre, the heat, tiger, whatever saturated coverage? I want sports coverage, not favoritism coverage or personal life coverage/commentary.
I don't follow hockey, but would rather see a hockey highlight than see someone talk about the plight of the dallas cowboys. Stop beating the shit into the ground!
I want sports, not off the field drama, when the two intertwine, like the randy moss wave, i will accept it.
Reason: i would like to know a definitive answer to why randy moss was cut, but not hours and hours of speculation. -
then watch the local news ?
theyre catering to the entire country. far more people care about the heat than the rockets. topics like favre, moss, tiger, cowboys, etc are popular around the nation. agreet that they go overboard, especially on favre, but it kinda makes sense. they need to roll with stories that are hot everywhere. it is like one of those tabloid shows because sadly that's what most people want nowadays. -
This lol, op is clueless

The heat might go 81-1
-
but there are 30 teams now
-
Get used to it.
The past 3 games the heat haven't even looked like they were trying, yet blew out teams. (albeit pretty bad teams)
The hype will just build and build and the week of christmas it will reach critical mass and lebron james will take physical form in your living room then bend you over, asking what should I do, what should I do what should I do, before ramming 12 inches of nike advertising and unrealistic goal of 70+ wins down your throat.
Get ready princess. -
yes, i am clueless. I don't expect them to show the rockets stats on the bottom line, but only showing the heat?..seems like they are assuming we care more about how the heat players are doing than the teams we respectively are passionate about.
They have billed themselves as the total sports network...now it is the sports network who indulges in tabloid gossip and team favoritism. -
prediction: fadetomacs next thread will be on how American Idol doesnt cover Garth Brooks enough and they just play way to much top 40 ish
-
Umm they are in it for ratings. Far more people care about Lebron and Dwayne Wade then Aaron Brooks.

65-17
mark it -
I wonder what the breakdown is between these groups who watch espn:

a. people who like sports with no affiliation to a team.
b. people who love a certain team and are meh on sports.
c. people who love a team and sports.
d. people who hate sports. -
Probably C. Which is why they show highlights of most of the games, then spend the majority of time on the team that the largest % of people care about.
-
To clarify, because its obviously needed.

I personally wish that ESPN showed Brett Favre, the Heat, Randy Moss, and the Cowboys a lot less than they do now, but that is biased based on my own personal preference.
I also do not believe that ESPN should cover these stories less from a business perspective.
They cater to the entire nation. The number of people that want to hear about the Heat/Favre/Cowboys/Drama is much higher than the number of people that want to hear about the Rockets. Therefore, they should more than likely cover these stories significantly more than random teams.
Additionally, ESPN is always trying to expand their viewers. The market that does not currently watch ESPN (that ESPN is undoubtedly targeting) are infinitely more interested in the enormous headline tabloid stories. Think of the people you know that do not currently watch ESPN.....
Do they care more about Brett Favre showing his cock to a hot chick? Do they care more about America's team including tabloid star-dater Tony Romo failing? Or do they care more about whether or not the Raptors beat the Jazz. -
The only thing you can call ESPN Sportscenter and News is repetitive. If you watch the same stuff over and over that is on you. You know damn well you will have no problem finding Breaking News on a subject and tune in if you feel the need.
And if you got a problem with Mort then WTF and and lol.... -
I'm kinda rooting for the Heat to be better than 72-10 (Not gonna happen btw). Only so when the Lakers or the Celtics crush their souls in the playoffs, it'll make it that much more humorous.
-
um espn caters to the casual viewer not the guy that watches espn 12 hrs a day. if you want to learn more about the rockets they have a website and theres NBATV.
-
Use the internet. ESPN is like the American Idol or TRL or the sports jounalism world. They are out to make money and many people don't care about how many yards Arian Foster had or how the Raptors did against the Trailblazers. They wanna know about Tiger and Favre and the Yankees and LeBron. I agree that ESPN is annoying, I mean, they beat stuff to death. Do we really need 5000000000 stories about Brett Favre?

If you are say a.... Jacksonville Jags fan or a Seattle Seahawks fan you are out of luck. Just search google for one of the many fan run websites devoted to those teams. You are gonna get 50 times better info that what ESPN would give you anyway. That's what I do to follow my teams (Cleveland's 3 teams, Tampa Bay and Ohio State). and I survive. -
this tilts me so much. i can appreciate that you dont want the heat to win. But to defaultly root for the lakers cause you hate the way the heat formed their team is just plain stupid. You do realize that the way the lakers formed their championship team is way way way way way worse and is actually against the rules. (unlike the way the heat formed) . and wtf, the celtics did the same thing the heat did 4 years ago lol
-
you guys are dumb. espn is beyond terrible. its sports tmz. i dont think you could try and do a worse job of presenting highlights night in and night out. most teams get 10 seconds and the final score flashed. its trash. rachel nichols? fuck rachel nichols you dumb bitch. fuck trent dilfer.
-
Maybe you should just go here for all your needs
NBA.com
ESPN is the nuts and you guys down there are soo lucky . TSN shows almost exclusivly hockey 7 months of the year a guy cant even get a College Bbabll update when needed -
they are trying to get people who love reality shows and ET and inside edition to watch espn ldo.
love how retarded america can be -
BUT THEY DIDNT DO IT WITH TEH DECISION

^^^^^^ sfthis. I remember when MTV launched way back when. Hell, I had MTV on almost 24-7, then they went "mainstream" I guess you'd call it and their format changed completely. Immediately I went from having it on constantly to having it on never. Same for ESPN. Long ago it was like my default station and I watched it constantly.

I still watch poker on ESPN, but now I don't watch ESPN sports news unless there's some big story they're covering on one of my teams, which is almost never. If ESPN were to sign off forever, it wouldn't even create a ripple in my tv viewing world. -
If you think it's bad now, just imagine what the coverage is gonna be like when they don't win the title.
