    One of the things that has always perterbed me, is when I think of a clever/useful word/shortcut, I see it used 1 week later by 3/4 of the poker world.

    I bitch and complain, only to hear random people ive never heard of in my life say they invented it. the following things I feel I invented/created that have been used more times than jenna jameson.

    <3 - i did not invent this, i will NOT take credit for inventing this, but it seems around the same time i started using this, it blew up.... this is one of the exceptions to the rule.... whilst i don't think i invented this, i saw it much less before i started using it, related or not.

    GFY - please see above.

    wanfa- those who know are in the know

    wayd - see above

    waygdt - see above

    O_O - just saw this in a post... feel its never been seen before myself and friends

    wdbi - ive seen only myself and my friends use this, but whatevs etc.

    the list is basically unfinishable... typical conversations between me and jamers have become undiscnernable to the untrained individual (ask DexterCain for proof of this)...

    what do you feel you have added to the world that you haven't received credit for?

    I remember that as a regular acronym on UseNet boards back in 91 or 92.

    You were FIVE YEARS OLD then.

    I'm pretty sure I invented IDK, but none of my friends believe me.

    I invented JAS meaning just a second, but no one else use's it :(

    if IDK means i don't know, i'm pretty sure you didn't "invent" it, either. my brother and i say "ik" and "idk" and "idc" and such all the time.

    as far as someone inventing a phrase, it's pretty normal for very similar ideas and inventions to crop up in different areas with no knowledge of each other, like alphabets/written languages and stuff. so it's entirely possible that two different people who didn't know each other at all both started abbreviating something the same way.
