I second the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks.

Also if you're into fantasy genre some great ones are:
The First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie
The Warded Man by Peter V Brett
Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind
A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

lol this is the first time I've ever heard The Road called a "fun read."

Agree. I found the book very disturbing, bleak, and unenjoyable to read at certain parts. When I finished the book I thought it was great. If that makes any sense.
  21. The "A Wrinkle in Time" series by Madeleine L'Engle is still one of my all time favorite reads. It's actually about time for me to pick them up again as it's been several years.

If you're a baseball fan read "Moneyball" and "Three Nights in August" back to back. Its quite the fascinating contrast to see two approaches to winning.

  22. That's why it was last on the list. I ordered them in order of most "fun" to least "fun" to read, with Battle Royale being the most fun/exciting/thrilling, and The Road being the most bleak/gray. That said, I still found even The Road to be a "fun" read, since it was violent/gruesome and very suspenseful at times (for me, anything which is well written, violent/gruesome, and super suspenseful all at the same time, is almost always going to be "fun" to read, from what I've noticed.)
  23. You must read Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. Its on my top 5 all time list and Im not even finished with it!
  24. b, how is your avatar not a dude in a beekeeper suit?
  25. Not sure if you know the show "californication". But if you do get god hates us all. Its the book featured in the show. Its a really fast and fun read.
