REDMOND, Wash. (CBS Seattle) – Microsoft has been granted a patent for its “avoid ghetto” feature for GPS devices.
A GPS device is used to find shortcuts and avoid traffic, but Microsoft’s patent states that a route can be plotted for pedestrians to avoid an “unsafe neighborhood or being in an open area that is subject to harsh temperatures.”

I try to avoid areas where there are a lot of young people, maybe this will help with that.

Seems like a good app to me. Ever take the wrong exit in East Saint Louis in the middle of the night....I did one time. Thought for sure I was about to be jacked at the first stop I came to. I almost turned around to go down the offramp the wrong way to get back on the interstate.

I did one time on my way out to LA from Chicago. I asked some guy for directions and he made me pay him and didnt even help. we ended getting our hubcaps stolen also. -

Sounds like a good app. A lot of shithole neighborhoods are particularly bad to be in after dark..especially if your ethnicity does not match that of the neighborhood.

I went to Portsmouth VA yesterday and was looking at vandalism damag to quote repairs and a chick was jsut walking down the street with her titties out, I was afriad to tell her that her shirt had come down so I just went about my business and she went home with ther titties out. There was a police officer in the neighborhood when I got there but he had left before I was done.
I knew it was gonna be shitty day without an ap. -

I hate the idea of this app; one of the best ways to cheer up after a bad day is sending confused German tourists into the worst neighborhood within walking distance (trust me - it's a shortcut lol).
