40 years... majority of the 50 year olds will be dead. Most of the 40 year olds will also be dead. A good portion of the 30 year olds will also be dead.
There wouldn't be many new threads because out of like 4K active posters there would only be a few hundred left and they would probably end up being all the lurkers. Thus there would be a few hundred people waiting to read something that no one will post.
If I am not dead in 40 years then I hope I can still get a woody if I'm living... and I promise to make threads about it too. -
the internet would be completely different from as we know it now. And like all the 65+ year olds, we'd be slower to adapt. I doubt OT would even exist. Adam et al would either be dead or not wanting to run a website for a small group of people. And we can't pass it down cause no new members
How are all the 20-50 year olds from 1972 reacting to today's technology? Dead, slowly, or asking wtf is a ipod. -
who will be the last surviving 2005er?
slugger 1,000,000th post watch -
My mom isn't dead and owns an ipad, her husband is a salesman for Siemens. Growing old doesn't mean you can't keep up with current technology.

"What's my play here?"
So I've been going to bingo every Monday for years now but haven't had any luck with the ladies. Well for the last couple weeks a new gilf has been showing up and I get nervous when ever I'm around her. She's probably a solid 2 (ot1) and rumor has it she has both her original hips. Should I leave a note on her scooter? -

Why does that matter? You act as if people stop learning when they get in their '20's. Just because my Dad was using punchcards to load software into a computer back then doesn't mean he can't understand how to operate a laptop or a smartphone. Do you think Bill Gates is unable to use today's technology because of his age?

Edited By: TMLMS13 Jan 10th, 2012 at 02:25 PMin relation to the question in the OP, in 40 years I doubt OT even exists, mainly due to new technology that makes internet forums a thing of the past. If it does exist threads would probably be just be about current events in the world, politics, sports, news etc.Originally Posted by Dyzalot

I would bet the only new stuff would be something like "what does your kid do for a living?" or "post pics of your grandchildren" -
This is a neat thread idea really. What's the community going to look like as we age? I know I have been coming here constantly for six years. Will I stop? I don't plan to. You guys are my watercooler.
