a) captain of industry
Edited By: giveemhell Sep 7th, 2010 at 06:49 AM
b) rockstar
c) pro athlete
assuming all else is equal, or if you have a vision of what they should live like,
which would you choose right now, and why? -
a. i would HATE being famous sooooooooooooooooo bad.
-
Really tough choice and you could make a case for all 3 but every boy growing up wanted to win a superbowl or world series so im gonna go with C. Still allows you to make a ton of money and fuck tons of bitches.
-
you can be at the top of your game, but still be relatively out of the spotlight if you tried. just dont flame out like TO or get caught up like Tiger. I'm interested in hearing how you would live that role
-
i would go with captain of industry. business and government people rule. they sponsor your concerts and championship games. they own skyboxes and can have any singer at their daughter's wedding.
-
A and it's not close.
If you love sports that much, buy a team. -
Owning a team would be awesome but theres something about being on the field i think and actually playing hearing everyone chant your name or MVP ect. they dont do that shit for the owner
-
Only because you can maintain a certain level of anonymity from the general public OBV unlike the other two options. Also, I think over the long run, they produce greater wealth (hourly rate), as aggregate, than the typical rockstar/athlete (obv not including the David Bowies or Rolling Stones of the world).
-
D) Chuck Norris
Because Chuck Norris is already all 3 and you get to be Chuck fkn Norris! -
Captain of Industry>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rockstar (producer/DJ in my case)>Pro athlete
-
Wouldn't want to be an NBA baller because your career will span < 20 years, plus you're not guaranteed glory. The term rock "star" implies glory, and you will have longevity and the ability to do what you love for much greater than 20 years. I love competition and sports, but I know how it feels to be talented and competitive. I don't know what it feels like to be a talented musician, playing for thousands of fans, doing what you love. To be able to express your feeling and soul into song would be pretty fucking sweet. That said, it might be really cool to be a PGA Tour golfer, so IDK. A lot of pros and cons for each. I've thought about this question before, and rock star just edges out athlete by the thinnest of margins.

A tends to make the most money of the three, avoid being constantly hounded by the papanazis, not OD on coke, and not go bankrupt before the money takes care of entire generations of the family. Captain of industry and I don't think it's really all that close. Buy a team, send yourself up into outer space, etc, and do it without people constantly following you around and demanding every second of your time whilst constantly looking for an indiscretion they can put on YouTube.
-
see Im the same, Ideally I would be Sir Richard Branson but I would probably give anything to play my music in front of 15,000-100,000 people every night.
-
C) Centerfielder or right winger/defenseman. Next best thing to flying imo, and Ive always wanted to fly like superman.
-
I love sports but it's Rock Star for me
-
a and its not even close
-
agrii with zander

Easily this for me.
I mean hell you could buy a team and put yourself in whatever position you wanted if you wanted to live out some childhood dream. -
pro hockey player for sure.
love hockey since i was a kid, and to make $$ playing the sport would be awesome.
btw, just finished playing in a slopitch tourney and ex pro-hockey player Richard Matvichuk was playing on the team. had some pretty cool stories. -
A for reasons others have posted
-
Rock Star. If you fuck up regarding drugs or infidelity as the other 2 a shit storm follows. It's expected when you're a rock star.
