Everyone needs to lives in Colorado once. I'm looking to move to San Diego for a little while only to see what else is out there, but I will 100% end up back here.

  5. If you are going to move outta Jersey and not get your ass kicked, you better quit dressing like a retarded thug. I hear that is only acceptable in Jersey.

    I'm being serious too

Reason: NO more flat billed hats
  6. I can't believe someone suggested Santa Fe, NM. That might be the only place in America that's worse than Jersey.

    This is true.
  9. Maybe it's just me but curious how anyone w/ far less than a year experience and a degree they admit they haven't touched in 3 years can come into a job starting @ $20/hr when the company knows they're gone within a year?

Either way GL dude! If I weren't dead set on moving to Raleigh, this thread would have made me consider Scottsdale an absurd amount.

I have been to about 40 of the states and can't think of another one I can say that about.

    Somebody else said Sacramento
  13. haters gon hate

  14. Florida is awesome if you can hit the ground running jobwise. It's like New York, only with better weather, hotter women, and shitty transportation. You're fucked if you don't get that 16-20/hour job though. Cost of living is high because everyone wants to live here.
  15. meh, its not like he is leaving some great situation he is in right now. Wherever he may choose to go, whats the worst thing that could happen? he is trying to better himself in a completely different location, wont be living with his parents and may find a good job. Gets to experience a living in a rando state.. could find a girl, get married.. all im saying is who knows, but im sure alot of it sounds better than what he is doing now. good luck homy.
  16. Why not try a different country Jay?
  17. San Fran. / thread
  18. Houstons actually really nice -- its hot for a good chunk of the year, but its starting to get pretty nice out. There's lots to do (4th largest city in the US), and its super cheap in comparison to LA, Chicago, or NYC.

Not sure what you are implying here but more often than not people will behave and act the same way no matter where they live or where they go. Relocation is not an answer to self improvement if thats what he is seeking which i dont think he is.

I am under the impression that he just wants to get out of Jersey and experience something new. Get more culture and have fun while working an odd job or two.

If i was single and just looking to go to a new city for a year...i would travel Europe and play online poker for travelliing money....if you dont do that...than go to Canada..maybe hook up with some peeps that live in a poker house up there.

Maybe look at the relocation section of pfives for places like Panama and Costa Rica and live in a poker house out there and shred Party Poker sngs for Twenty bones an hour.

If it had to be somewhere within the greater Forty Eight...in no particular order

    Austin
    Boise
    Seattle
    Lake Tahoe
    Raleigh/Durham

    huh?

ditto Seattle, Lake Tahoe, Austin, Tempe, Colorado front range, NC (Asheville or Raleigh, but you should try something other than the East Coast)

    perhaps add Nashville.

    absolute no to Houston
  25. Boise sucks no Cards in Idaho casino's and just not a lot of stuff to do, I lived there for a couple months for a job moved home fastest i could.

Seattle is ok but be prepared for weirdo fucking yuppies.
  26. Houston was really fun but IMO isnt the best set-up for a city that size. It's pretty far to get to diff areas of the city and it didnt appear to have good transit options (Was only there for a week tho)

and Toronto has alot of options it's just hella expensive tho we have almost anything you could ask for in a city and then some

It obv is gonna be tough to get a proper visa or whatever u may require

  27. transit in houston is non existent unless you live close to the light rail which 95% dont.
  28. It's pretty easy to make that kind of money hourly, if you're working at a decent restaurant, the hours might be thin but the free time isn't.

I'm only a southeast guy so I can only speak for a few places, but based on my 3 adult living experiences I rank em like:

    1. Atlanta, GA = Great place to live, tons of shit to do, good food, good nightlife, fun people, plenty of job opportunity, and cheap living!

    2. Wilmington, NC = Amazing place to live, a little to hillbilly for me (coming from a guy that grew up in a pretty rural area in GA) but tons of good food/nightlife/people etc. but I don't think the job market is so hot there. There is a beach though, which is obviously nice.

    3. Jacksonville, FL = Tons of women and cheap booze, I was quite young and irresponsible when I lived here, we probably had similar interests when I was here, and while a lot of fun Jax was a terrible place for me to live if I had any ambition beyond drinking gambling and chasing women.

Wtf kind of jobs are out that they pay like $20hr +/- a few dollars?

...don't tell them you're leaving in a year...
  30. I know someone who had to move to Boise for work. He's a dork, a fun night for him is drinking a couple of wine coolers lol. He thinks Boise is terrible.

I think you need to look at jobs in different places that seem interesting but the cost of living isn't crazy and then narrow it down based on which areas have the best job availability. and move somewhere where you aren't gonna end up killing yourself because there isn't anyone to watch your ass imo.

and don't tell an employer that you're only staying for a year, why would anyone do that?!?!
