When they start calling anyone against gay marriage a hateful bigot (except democrats, of course) they turned a lot of people off (no pun intended) imo. I mean, i think the vast majority of people think if someone is in tge hospital then their lover of 40 years should be able to visit ffs.

don't worry hunny. When you get that liposuction I'll be right next to you holding your hand
  2. Shocked that Obama is against gay marriage?

Uh huh. Equal rights except for the whole right for their marriage to be recognized by the government as, you know, marriage. Makes sense.

Yeah, equal as in exactly the same except for the name. Bc without the same name they wouldnt be able to ...uh...well they wouldnt have the right to...um...hmm...?

Do you think gays wont call themselves married?? Lol. "Our four fathers gathered together to witness the creation of thiscivil union" or "we got married!"?

  7. In a gay marriage does the bottom get more than the top incase of divorce?

Let them get married ffs. Of all the shit in the world to worry about...
  8. I guess im an OT lib and i think Obama should be ashamed of himself for his stance just like bush should be. There. Happy?

  9. I thought Obama was liberal.
  10. Let's not worry about Obama's position on gay marriage. His position is evolving and the election will be over in November. By January he will be in favor of gay marriage.
  11. At least gitmo is closed.
  12. I still don't understand how two people getting married effects anyone else...
  13. so why can't I have 2 wives. equal rights imo.

(not arguing against gay marriage or civil unions I really don't give a shit)

What's the homosexual community's stance on polygamy? They have to be for it right?

probably not it is a sin after all. lol

  16. Dan Savage ( a gay guy that does a very popular sex advice collumn and sex advice podcast) thinks that gay people should welcome a victory where they get a civil union with all the rights but just not called marriage. He thinks gays that are trying to have the name 'marriage' associated to their union are pushing too much . He thinks small steps at a time is the way to go and he was blasting his fellow gays that are un-happy with a fully-legal civil union that isnt named marriage.

I personally dont care if they use marriage or not but thats probably cause I care less about religion then I do about gays.

If the term marriage is based out of religion instead of government doctrine as many people claim it is then I'm not sure why you can't have two wives. We have freedom of religion in this country and if your religion says you can have two wives then if marriage is a religious belief why can't you. Just because Chirstians God defines marriage as between a man and women doesn't mean all religions have similar definitions.

But marriage in the U.S. is not based on religion (regardless what the far right claims) and based on the government definition marriage is between a man and a women. The language should be changed imo to include gay couples. It will never be changed to include two men and a women, two women and a man, etc for various reasons

As for Obama coming out against gay marriage it is because of who makes up his base, I don't really believe he cares one way or another on the issue at all and when/if he gets elected if there was legislation available for him to sign legalizing gay marriage there would be a chance he would sign it, depending on the language in the bill give it 50-50.

Why would they have to be for it? Makes no sense. Do people who believe in polygamy have to be for homosexual's?

    Hey Faggot.

No, I mean that was the name of his sex advice column in the Bay Guardian. funny stuff. I think it's changed now tho but idk. So people would write in and it would look like: "Hey Faggot, I was wondering about scissoring with my gf" or "Hey Faggot, I think I want to try s&m with my wife, how?" good times

  19. Still dont really understand how this is an equal rights issue. Homosexuals have every right to marry someone, just not of the same sex. Same goes with heterosexuals. So it seems as though everyone has equal rights to me.

So you believe that it wouldn't be against "equal rights" if black people could only buy things from other black people, and white people could only buy things from other white people? I mean, they can buy things from someone, just not from someone of a different race?
  24. ...and today we vote on Amendment 1 here in NC. Time to find out if we are still a state of uneducated rednecks.

last poll I saw seemed to be leaning pretty heavy towards passing it unfortunately. What I think a lot of voters are not educated on here is that this amendment also bans civil unions of any kind. So this is not just an anti-gay amendment.

  27. Better late than never I guess...

"Obama told ABC News that, after reflection, he had "concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.""
