now if she could just learn that South Africa is not a region in the country of Africa.
kinda funny how the McCain campaign is throwing her under the bus. -
All I know was when she was here she went for a run, about 4 miles or so and ran a very fast pace. Like 7.5 minute miles which is fast for a mother of 5 on a campaign trail
-
A 4-year-old knows Africa is a continent. How can you take anything the McCain camp says about Palin with anything but a grain of salt? There were burnt bridges.
Would I want her as my president? No, because I don't share a lot of her views. I also think she lacks the foreign knowledge needed. However, she seems like a good leader and worker for the people of Alaska.
Hearing her unscripted interviews though, I have to say that just hearing her off-the-cuff (as opposed to the McCain Campaign's leash) is very refreshing and respectable. -
I wanted to start a thread here on Halloween but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm probably going to hell just for saying this.
and this is true.
Do you know what Sarah Palin dressed up her baby for as Halloween? Dumbo -
Give her a week or so and she can probably run across the whole country of Africa. Maybe even stop off for lunch in that South African "region" of the country.
-
o man, whoa, that just ain't right. omg
-
i bet it would take her even longer to run across all 57 states also
-
I don't get it though. why?? why would they come up with something so outlandish and decide to peddle it? Carl cameron and the guys from Newsweek said they were very high up aides to McCain
-
A little common sense is always refreshing.
-
Why couldn't it have been a verbal gaffe like Obama's 57 states, just blown out of proportion by McCain campaign aides wanting to blame someone else for the loss rather than themselves?

Edit: Haven't we all accidentally called continents countries before? We know what we mean, but sometimes it just slips out. -
I just think its more likely when you consider the performance of Palin in her interview with Couric. Read a transcript on the part when she starts talking about housing. makes zero sense.
-
dolphin...there's a difference between talking about housing and knowing Africa is a continent, which we all learned before we got to 1st grade. C'mon.

If they seriously wanted to trash her, wouldn't they make up something a little more believeable?
As I told my dad when I first heard about the Africa thing: "If someone had told me she thought Africa was a country, I would have told them that that was the worst Palin joke I'd ever heard." -
I just don't get how the fuck senior McCain aides would sit around and devise a plot and say, "hey, let's tell the media she thought South Africa was just a region in the country of Africa"
-
because these losers need somebody to blame McCains god awful campaign on and it couldnt possibly be his advisors
-
The most amusing part is that even if this is all true, doesn't that still make his campaing the morons for picking her?
He ran a bad campaign in a bad year to be a republican and had the media against him(at historic levels IMO). -
At the top 15 ranked university I went to, I specifically remember 1 girl not knowing Africa was not a country, and another time sitting in amazement as 2 girls debated whether a square is a rectangle.

Someone I respect told me something in HS, and it's held true everywhere I've gone in life, no matter what elite school you go to, what level of the corporate ladder you rise to, there will always be people you meet at the same or high level as you that make you wonder how the hell this person got there.
It wouldn't really surprise me if she didn't know Africa wasn't a country. I have very little respect for her intelligence judging by her interviews with Gibson and Couric. However, I think she has incredible political instincts, and find her very likable. -
I also thought Africa was a country! I wasn't born yet, but hey she's from Alaska
I'd let her slob on my knob anytime
Her daughter looks like a freak too, having kids at 12 or 13 years of age...
OH BABY I LIKE IT RAW, HO BABY I LIKE IT RAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW -
Maybe while she learns about sout africa Obama can learn there are only 50 states not 57 and biden can learn his former presidents
