I have two iMacs. One is mine and one is a friend's that I'm holding on to. Would I be able to use my friend's as a secondary monitor for mine? I don't want to have the computer running on his, just want it to function as a desktop extension.
As always, I'll send pictures of my penis to whoever answers. -
Not easily. You can't use a cable to do it. Here's an article that I recommend not reading and forgetting about this idea: LINK

I don't care how much ass you pull; you are easily frontrunner for the 2011 plattsburgh award -
A) Idk what the Plattsburgh award is
B) What's jfc worthy? If I'm that computer incompetent then ok. But am I missing something? The entire article is about using a Macbook to display on an iMac, I have to assume the video output capabilities/settings/whatever on a Macbook would be different than an iMac. -
google or the apple website is your friend
c'mon man -
I don't see any answers, you're just gonna have to pick up a couple of dongles and try it out.

You have to buy a two way converter cable. It's a six pin on one side and a nine pin on the other side. The ports are shaped like triangles. Just make sure both computers are unplugged when you connect them because you could inadvertently fry the data port
