I have an HD tv at my dad's house but he isnt willing to ad an hdtv box. He regular cable tho. Ny friend was saying if i bought an indoor HD antenna i could hook it to my tv and get many HD channels.
Anyone ever heard of this? -
I bought one for when my dish goes out during bad weather and it doesn't work for shit.
-
geographic location matters....and by many HD channels, he means only the network channels....i think
-
yeah the antenna needs to be outdoors to pick up any decent signal strength..... had a buddy who used to get HD over the air.... local channels PBS etc
-
what are they suppose to do? never even heard of these things. do they pick up stations like tbs/tnt etc?
edit: obv i've always had either cable or Dish, so idk shit about antennas... is it just for locals? -
ok so they work for just fox nbc cbs etc...does it have to be set up outside or can you still get good reception indoors?
-
don't quote me on that, i believe who your cable provider is might also be a factor
-
here in suburban OKC the antenna needed to be outside to get reception worth a fuck..... this was before Cox offered HD service with digital cable and he could pick up all the network channels plus a few others....
-
HD rabbit ears? is thread real?
-
I have indoor rabbit ears connected to an HDTV and get several local HD channels in the DFW area. There is no real difference between a $10 old-school TV antenna and the "HD optimized" ones RadioShack will try to sell you for $50.
