  1. Normally I'm on the phone with customer support at this point, but my phone is MIA. Any help is appreciated and if you can lend me a successful tip that fixes the problem I'll ship PS$5.

I'm watching The Prestige for the 4th time this month when my tv makes a high pitched, digital squeak and my signal goes out. The sky is clear, no rain, I check to see my dish is still atop the roof, all's well. There's not even a "searching for signal" message or anything. Per directv.com troubleshooting tips I have unplugged the receiver, unplugged tv, turned off and on... nothing. It's hooked up to my HDMI slot 2, so I switched it over to HDMI 1 and changed inputs but that didn't work... I don't know how my HDMI cord or plug could've been messed up just sitting idly. My TV is a Panasonic from 2006, if that matters.

  2. Just got an HD DVR yesterday. Did something similar to me but screen stayed on telling me it was looking for signal. I think it was a heat issue with the filters they put on the lines for HD content. If you have it inside an entertainment center you may want to pull it out and let it cool for a few and then it should be fine.
  3. try using component cable (red, blue, green). hdmi ports on sat box's go out constantly. could even use composite (yellow, red, white) to see if its the hdmi port.

if that doesnt work check another component (dvd, xbox) to make sure its not the tv.
  4. I'll have to locate the component cables.

Wtf do I do if they go out constantly? I want to watch tv in HD, not pixelated shit :(
