  1. i'm currently going on like 3-4 days (lost track) of not sleeping at all. any time my head hits a pillow my heart rate goes up and just mind keeps racing about anything and everything to the point where i just hop outta bed and start doin somethin.

went to the E.R. yesterday had mad tests done and shit, and they say everything is fine with me, gave me a xanax scrip to try and calm me down popped 2 of em before i tried to sleep last night, nothing, been up ever since.

anyone ever experience something like this before?
  2. no but it sounds awful.

Were you on anything/ had anything going on in your life before this?

What did your sleep schedule used to be like?
  3. You're thinking about sleeping too much. Just lay down and if you fall asleep good, if not, don't worry about it.

Also try going to a gym and just excersizing(hate spelling this word, fk it imma keep it this way) till you're to the point of exhaustion. Or just go for a nice long run.
  4. A few hits of this should do the trick

nah nothing really going on right before it all started that could've caused it, maybe just the fact that i've been sucking ass at poker lately.

before my sleep schedule was just liek a standard mtt grinders.. grind/fuck around online till like 2-3am and then sleep in till about noon every day, but since the semester started i have class at 8AM mon, wed, fri so that has kind of screwed things up a bit/thrown me off.

and to 2nd guy who replied.... yes i know that is my problem, every time i lay down and try to sleep i just cant stop thinking about the fact that im not asleep yet and i'm not going to fall asleep, it's really messed up and i don't know what to do about it

  6. Yes, but it was drug-related - be careful - if you go much longer without sleep, your brain will start making shortcuts, possible hallucinations and paranoid schizophrenia could occur if you don't get sleep somewhere in the next few days - don't drive - call the doctor back and tell him the Xanax didn't work
  7. KWOODS - i smoke top notch shit out of my volcano pretty much any time i'm awake, so that won't do the trick

Exactly, I used to have this all the time, it gets in your head that you can't sleep then you get semi frustrated. It just eventually went away for me.
  9. Chew some Valerian root and get more exercise.

  10. Dam dude if that dosent work GL. I sometimes take 2 sleeping pills and a few shots of jack. If that dosent work GG.
  11. Have you tried self-hypnosis? Lay down, then starting at your feet, relax each individual part of your body, saying to yourself for example "I'm feeling my feet relax and go to sleep" visualize a warm blanket sensation coming over you from the toes up - don't move, just repeat the process moving up your whole body - even if you don't fall asleep, you'll be allowing your body to rest and your mind to be calm - gl, insomnia sucks
  12. I have had mild insomnia for a while now and am just starting to figure out how to deal with it. I would lay in bed for hours, sometimes like 5-6 hours just laying there til eventually id go play xbox or something because i was so frustrated i couldnt get to sleep. I eventually did get to sleep but sometimes itd be at 10am. Recently this has changed to me waking up every 3 hours and not getting much REM sleep. I was having massive headaches during the day because of all the stress Ive been under lately...

Poker has been real rough to me lately and that was probly the biggest cause, so I have been playing much less, and in that time trying to focus less on outcomes and sweating cards coming.

Try to get your self on some kind of schedule, exercise during the day, even if its just for a 15 minute run. Staring at the computer screen all day probably doesnt help us when we want to go to sleep at night either...

Search through Itunes on some podcasts or audiobooks about sleep hypnosis it might help you try to calm down and get some sleep. Good luck bro

if thats the case my best advice would be to take a couple days off from the poker and just chill with friends/drink/bang bitches, try to just unwind and see if that can get you back on track...

    good luck
  14. Try getting out of the house, wear your self out physically and get on a sleep schedule.
  15. Sounds like anxiety,boss.
Try going for a walk or exercising before to clear your head.
  16. Ambien. The greatest thing ever invented. Talk to your doctor about it.

  19. Do you have anxiety issues czar? I do sometimes and I fall into this same pattern. I am trying to sleep and I am aware that I am trying to fall asleep, which gets my frustrated that I can't sleep and then.........I can't sleep.

What kind of things or thoughts race through your mind when you are laying there? Do you try to lay there and kind of try to force yourself to sleep or do you accept it get up and do something? How long have you had this condition?

Important question: Do you ever take time out of your day to relax and do nothing? Trying going on a walk for 30 minutes maybe an hour outside. I have found this to help me immensely. I would think that if you do not take the time to enjoy and relax from the hassles of the real world (i.e. - your net worth, why haven't things been going good?, what are you going to do?) your body and brain do it when it has time...when you lie down. I would try picking up a new hobby to focus attention on for a little while. Read philosophical books, take walks, watch nature shows, collect baseball cards with the gum in them :P, anything to help switch your daily routine and keep your mind....distracted...yet focused. Maybe even change your playing schedule too. Sorry for ramblez...

  20. Robin Williams start calling yet???
  21. Melatonin might help. You'll find it with the vitamins/supplements. Some people swear by it for relieving jet lag and sleeping disorders.

    Easiest solurion of all time

Drink a fkn ton of hard liq and beer....pass out hammered u will wake up and then got to sleep again for hours
  24. Sucks to hear that OP.

There are plenty of remedies to help you deal with your insomnia long-term, but right now you just need to get some sleep.

    Go to the doctor.
  25. take alot of them xanax

i have insomnia real bad, got a script of ambien, i have to eat like 2 of the 12.5 CR's and 4 simply sleeps every night, been that way for a while

i know someone who has alot of xanax though and the best sleep i ever get is when i eat like 5 blue footballs, theyre kind of addictive though especially at the dosage i need... so i havnt asked my dr for them

i think excersize would be key, i have a broken ankle and have to stay on my back for a few months so i'm just slamming drugs down at the moment, definatly going to try to fit some excersize into my routine when i can again though

Trust me I am a pro
  27. if you really have insomnia this will not work, you will just wake up two hours after you passed out hungover and feeling worse then ever, its all about the 4+ hours REM
  28. Watch Eastbound and Down...You will laugh yourself to sleep
  29. 10mg/dose is ridiculous. 4mg would have me passed out in my chair, and I have a script for them.
  30. Weed could be causing this.
