iphone question

    recently my phone broke, so i took the sim card out and a friend had an old iphone 3gs so i was able to get that iphone activated with my sim card. i have all my contacts, phone works, etc. the only thing that didnt copy over was the messages that were saved to the sim card. there is some messages i got on my other phone that i couldnt read because it was broken...but i assumed it would copy over the iphone. any ideas?

    iphone uses sms, your old phone prob doesnt
