So I'm watching the UMD/FSU game and on a crucial 4th and 4 on the FSU 30ish and the Terps convert. As the player is going out of bounds he fumbles the ball. The official blows the whistle, signals out of bounds and the play is dead. There is a UMD player standing next to the ball but because of the whistle was dead didn't pick up the ball and a FSU player jumps on it. The play is reviewed, it clearly was a fumble and FSU gets the ball.
Now I'm all for getting the call right but this is just BS to me. Once the whistle blows and the play is dead you can't expect players to continue playing in the event of a replay.
The ole adage "Play untill the whistle blows" doesn't seem to be true anymore. -
Don't blame your loss on the refs twerp.

Wtf is this? Does anyone read posts or just reply at random.
Where did ANYONE in this thread apologize for being an Irish fan. I added "I know, I know" after stating I was an Irish fan because I knew I would get shit for it. Pretty sure thats not an apology. -
you have to be a LSU or Tennessee fan to do this.
but seriously
If this was during a Bama or FLA game poeple would be piling in to claim conspiracy and all that shit. Sometimes mistakes are made.
As for this case, refs need to let the play go as far as possible before they blow the whistle, this way hopefully replay can catch the correct play, instead of a whistle blowing a play dead. -
The problem's not just with replay.
Did you see those 2 holding penalties calling back touchdowns for UCONN to go ahead of ND? -
Can't wait till the FLA Bama game to see the same people who claim this claim bad refs/conspiracy about the other team/bad replay.

It's going to be classic really. -
As a die hard ND fan I will agree the two holding calls were just gross. The first one was worse than the second but both were bad.

There are bad calls in every game esp. in the holding and PI department, but my issue was with the fact they officials blew the play dead, a FSU player jumped on a "dead ball" and they gave FSU the ball once the review revealed the ball was fumbeled. A player, on either team, should not have to be responsible for the football once the official clearly blows the whistle.
