  1. I understand that Frats make their pledges dress up nice in suits all the time. Today, a few guys were walking around campus in these suits, no problem, nothing wrong with dressing up. However, a few of these morons had hats on too.

Sorry, but if you are going to wear a $100+ suit, you can pay $10 for a haircut. Wearing a hat with nice clothing makes you look like a complete asshole. Especially a lot of these guys cut up their hats and make them look dirty, I guess it'll make people think they're tough while they drive around in the Explorers and Hummers that their parents bought for them.

Does anyone know why people do this?

  2. Does it bother you that much?

It used to bother me while in school but then I realized that for the most part frat guys are life donks so I just laugh at them.
  3. Then you should never watch the NBA draft
  4. It doesn't really bother me anymore, but come on. Has nobody told them that they look stupid?

  6. What kind of hat?
  7. Baseball hats. I would estimate that between 75 and 80% of them wear this exact one:

  8. First off the generalization about frat's making you dress up is kinda off base. I do, however, agree that when I see anyone in a suit and a hat they look dumb as fuck. It's mostly for like formals and shit around here when I see it, not necessarily just a pledging process. I know the only thing we ever had to dress up for was our initiations.
  9. There was one fraternity (out of 11) that did this when I was in college. I thought it was pretty dumb looking, too. They were also the white guys that cut their hats into visors, wore them to the side and often spoke the language of hip hop buffoonery. The whole fraternity wasn't like this, but probably about a third. It may have even been less than a third, but it was that kind of stuff that everyone associated with them.
  10. Oh and lol @ $100 suit. That's gotta be one cheap suit. I guess understandable if you rarely wear them though.

  11. I thought maybe you were talking about this hat.
  12. Or this hat.

  13. ^^^ There's your answer right there.
  14. all the frat boys here wear polo hats
i think they are like standard issue for all pledges
  15. I say who gives a shit what these dudes dress like / look like. I mean what, you want to make the dudes look more appealing or something?
  16. it does looking fucking stupid to wear a baseball hat with a suit, that exact opposites, nice clothes, shitty ass hat, makes no sense, but I'm sure these guys don't actually care about their appearance and are wearing suits b/c they are forced to, and the sorostitutes probably like that look.
  17. I would suspect that if one is required to wear clothing that he does not want to wear and there is no rule against hats, that person would wear the hat as an expression of what little free will they have left. One would do this without regard to whether the clothing is fashionable or appropriate, as the ability to express themselves in a manner that remains their choice is more important than how others perceive them.

Please, leave them with what little dignity they have left.
  18. ohhhhh...an ass-hat!
  19. You make it seem as if only ppl in frats wear suits with a baseball cap. I don't see what being in a frat has to do with it. It seems to me as if a lot of ppl in college that aren't in frats just love to talk shit about those in frats, and vice versa...... I'm glad I didn't go to a large university, everything is much more relaxed at small liberal arts schools.

  20. Has nothing to do with hating on people in frats. Some of my best friends are in frats or sororities

  21. You should never wear a baseball hat with a suit unless you are a first round draft pick.
  22. In my experience as a college student and fraternity member it was the complete opposite. Sure fraternity members get stereotyped with Polo's, Burberry hats, etc. But if anyone knows how to dress classy as a whole it's fraternities. I've seen alot worse than this from the common college population with dress ties un-woven mixed w/ t-shirts, ugly orange shoes, cut-off sleeves from a long sleeve shirt (normally pastel colored) mixed with t-shirts, and many others. Normally mixed with a dirty f'n unshowered hair.
  23. mmm twizzlers
  24. I'm really kinda suprised at this, when I was in a fraternity, we NEVER wore hats with shirts/ties or suits, it looks stupid. However, I am guilty of owning a hat that I turned into a visor (circa 1999) only because it was one of my favorite hats and I got blood all over it, so instead of ditching the hat, I made a visor out of it...I thought I was brilliant at the time. I still own that hat and it brings back hilarious memories.
  25. Well I really prefer to run nude around the track with a hot dog up my ass.
  26. Last I saw, it was a bratwurst.
  27. i tried to find a pic of CHIP from animal house wearing his baseball hat with his suit during Rush. damn it.
  28. On Full House, Uncle Jesse used to wear nice suits with white gym sneakers. Not just any sneakers either, but high-tops. I never understood it. I used to think Uncle Jesse had class, what do you expect from a guy who wanted to get married at the Ali Babba Hotel and Casino?
