    Okay, this is gonna be a combination of easy to difficult ones. I'll restate the rules. No google! No cheating! No google, and no yahoo/search/ask jeeves/or any other search engine. Just your own individual brain power. Please, so there's no "cheating" PM me the answers, and do not post them below. If you get a question right, I'll place your name in a list below the question with the question number you've answered correctly beside your name.

    *These are questions asked to Mensa Members and at the end of each question, I'll post the percentage of Mensa members that got that particular question correct. Just so we can feel smarter-er-est*

    #1.

    The brilliant but not entirely sensible inventor had discovered three separate ways to save fuel while driving. Each one saved approximately 30 percent on fuel consumption. "Aha," said the brillant inventor, "I will use only 10 percent of the fuel I use now and save a great deal of money." Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. How much fuel did he save, assumign that all the savings were independent and cumulative? (65%)

    Jack and Jill (not Kill, thank you GoPhish) were racing, but it was no contest. Jack beat Jill by 10 yards ona 100-yard course. Jill suggested that for the second race, Jack should start 10 yards behind the starting line - She figured that would give her a fair chance, since he had won by 10 yards. Who won, and by how much? (60%)

    #3.

    The local recycling plant had a contract requiring anyone who obtained recycles bottles for storage from them, to bring them back to be recycled again. The plant could make one new bottle from every seven bottles returned. One week, on Monday, they got 343 bottles to recycle. Assuming that everybody brought back all the empties, how many could they eventually remake from the 343? (44%)

    I met my friend the test pilot, who had just received a lot of publicity for a record round-the-world flight by balloon. with the pilot was a little girl of about two. "What's her name?" I asked my friend, whom I hadn't seen in five or six years and who had married in that time. "Same as her mother." "Hello, Susan," I said. How did I know if I had never seen the wedding announcement? (65%)

    The alleged perpetrator was trying to get even with his foe. This all happened in Puzzleland, so it was easy for him to obtain a sack of magic gunpowder to carry off to his enemy's fort. He did not realize, however, that the powder was self-igniting, and it has been leaking since he stole it. He had been running at his usual magic speed of 14 miles per hour over the 28 mile distance, but had to hide for a while when he reached his enemy's fort. Meanwhile, that magic gunpowder was burning itself up along his trail at the rate of 12 miles per hour. How long could he hide without making a spectacle of himself? (50%)

    LOL! Actually, I've read his book. Very interesting stuff.

    But cereally...I've just done a shit load of typing, and 99% of it without looking at the screen/keyboard. So yeah...see my explaination to BC about the endowment effect and sunk costs in her thread about saving useless stuff for further details...hope it helps more peoples. :o)

    Naw, they'll probably be busy. But, they know what you look like, so just take it, and if they shout in your direction, they're probably talking to someone else. Don't disturb their business, just go. You'll be fine.
