"So AA what have you done for us lately?
"Well aside from giving the entire country a sense of excitement about baseball that hasn't existed for 15 yrs, rebuilding the farm system from nearly last to in the top 5, across the board I also saved the team and company more than $200 million which is more than you paid for the whole team only a few years ago."
And now this. Jays pick up a 24 y/o 30HR .275 CF with a legit glove who will def be locked up for 5-6 years for reasonable dollars.
All it cost was most of the bullpen but they all sucked. Except Rzepcynski. He was pretty good. Dotel, Frasor, Cory Patterson, the prospect Zack Stewart who will be a shitty team's #4, they are all garbage.
Jays trot out RF Bautista CF Rasmus LF Snyder and have Rajai Davis, Eric Thames and Encarnacion platooing 4th OF/DH.
Things are looking up in Toronto. -
Huge steal by the Jays.

as a card's fan i'm glad to be rid of rasmus, his stats have declined from last year and doesnt get along with la russa. plus he always seems to choke in big moments, and obv we need some pitching. enjoy.
-
If I was a GM, and AA's number came up on my phone, I would ignore the call and block the number. They got Escobar on the cheap last year and now Rasmus. Rasmus is a great fit for the Jays.
-
Because his situation this year obviously sucks and his numbers are a reflection of the absolute worst he can do (which is still better than what we were running out there)?

Pretty sure Pujols didn't like Rasmus either...glad to see they moved him, wish him the best.
-
sigh :(
-
I just looked at last year and factored in a full 550 or so ABs.
What are the serious problems with rasmus? I remember the Cards were shopping him last year too. Not getting along with LaRusa isn't hard to believe, but it seems like the jays got a discount for a young good batter. -
Toronto is really, really close to competing. It wouldn't shock me in the least if Fielder ends up there. People often mistake Toronto for a small market, those people are idiots. If Toronto continues on this path, Rogers Corp (or Company) will certainly open up the coffers. If Drabek can rebound and they find an adequate 2B, watch out.

toroto would win the nl west, nl central, or the al central. it's just that they are stuck in al east. -
Brett lawrie will be coming up soon to play 3B. He was scheduled to jump in June, but broke his hand a week before.

Aaron Hill is stepping into Fwerrell's office at the end of the season cause he's fucking fired. Lind, Escobar, Lawrie with Snyder, Rasmus, Bautista is dirty.
The rotation has been ok. Romero and Morrow are legit and Drabek is a big fat gaping vagina. Have you ever seen someone throw so many gloves and smash so many waterjugs in the dugout? He looks like my little brother throwing a tantrum.
Looks like they are set up to make one huge addition either Prince or maybe bringing Doc back j/k or a sick ace like jjohnson or something.
Jays are real close. -
Thames is awful in the outfield but has improved alot since being called up. Plus he rakes. That guy is hitting in the 2 spot for a while. Snider, Rasmus, Davis, are all less valuable then him.
-
AA is like the bizarro world version of JP Riccardi
-
Fuck Tony La Russa
-
Colby never was going to thrive here. He needed a new team and a new outlook IMO. He reminds me so much of JD Drew. The major thing I hate about getting rid of him is how he is gonna be reasonably priced for the next several years.

We REALLY needed the relief help. Not sure where Jackson is gonna fit in. Maybe we'll move McClellan to the pen?
Hopefully now I can catch Dotel at Lumierre place in downtown STL more often to take some of his money! I played with him and Frank Francisco a couple weeks ago when the Jays were in town and won about $2100 in $2/5 NL, with about 1k of that from Dotel lol. He raised to $25 and I 3b KK to $85 and he shoved over $500. He had K9 lol. Not that $500 matters when you make $3.5M per.

Tony lOlrussa folks

I hate John Mozeliak...can we have Jocketty back?
This is an atrocious deal.
