The online test for this year's contestants on Jeopardy is being given tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday at 8 oclock. But these are the only times for the entire year.
Thought it would be fun to give it a shot and see how much I suck at general knowledge. You have to register at jeopardy.com before you can do it, and you have to do it at 8 ET (I guess to minimize cheating). Would be pretty cool if we got an OTer on the show, so everyone should at least try it if they have time tonight.
Post scores here too, so we can see who the geniuses are. -
IU v Purdon't tonight tho
-
IU sucks tho
-
I'm def interested and for an uneducated guy I crush at jeopardy
-
Im gonna try it...thnks for the heads up
-
I'll be sure to post when I win a spot on the show
-
Taking it Thursday night
OTers are some smart kats, so by starting this thread you just made it harder on the rest of us, thx yo ;)
gl to everyone taking it -
i know a guy who got his girlfriend on jeopardy by hitting a three quarter court hook shot in basketball. dont remember her having to take a test at all
-
one time?
-
will play tonite
GL bishes -
I'm taking the test tomorrow night. I won $29,000 in a Jeopardy game last night so i think my chances are decent unless the categories are Ballet, Opera, 8th Century Art, and Sushi.
-
so they only tell you this if you "pass" the test or do they say this to everyone?

I don't want to be on teevee but I want to take the test. if no results nor pass/fail, I ain't wasting my time. -
You don't know anything unless they call you with an offer to sign you up for an in-person exam.
-
people who take tonight if you remember post some questions that were tricky
obv they will be different but want some brain testing before tomorrow -
well I sucked. I think i got maybe 20 questions right out of 50.
-
haha that shit was pretty hard. I'll try and remember some, but you only get 15 secs per question. It was somewhat heavy on authors / poets.
-
Same. I missed several of the questions about books/authors I've read.

Admit that with the spelling thing you'd be a lock if you got to the interview. -
i went to nyc a few years back to take the test. it was a series of questions and you had to write your answers down. i thought i nailed it. after going through the answers, i only had 5 or 6 wrong. of the 60+ people i tested with, only 3 or 4 were asked to stay.

Definitely muffed a couple like blanking on Sophocles until there was 1 second left and throwing the wrong Swedish actress, but I think I did better than I expected...

Edited By: resilient Feb 9th, 2011 at 01:35 AMI did a live written test in LA about 20 years ago... I got approximately 60% on the test and they only kept 6 people out of 60 to do the screentest, fewer got on the show obv. From what I heard, you need to be around 90%.Originally Posted by FlyersGuy

I did a similar test in New York for ESPN's 2 minute Drill around 1996 I think, and I was 1 of 3 out of 40 that scored high enough to do the screen test, where they turn the lights on you. I didn't get past that part though, sigh.
I was on Scrabble with Chuck Woolery in 1989... only won $1000, lol. -
I signed up for tomorrow but if its a bunch of poetry and book/author ?'s, I am not wasting my time. I have never read a book in my life.
-
If you spell it wrong does it count?
-
spelling not mandatory, they said you have to be close and judges will determine what counts. even partial answers may count if you get timed out. Ie: Smit might count for an answer of john smith ( that was my interpretation)
