Since today is an awesome day for Jeter and his retarded nuthuggers I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to point out that Jeter was the Kurt Rambis of the 90's Yankees teams.
holy fucking lol @ comparing a bench guy to the starting short stop and #2 hitter on one of the best teams in mlb historyt
and the sad thing is i think he's serious
it's just funny how the guy has 1.5 "bad" seasons at age 38 and everyone forgets how much he raped for 14 years
not to mention in 09 he had a great year, and guess what they won it all again .334/.406/.465 18 and 66 with 30 steals. GTFO -
Kurt Rambis won 4 NBA Championships plus 1 in Greece Not the worst insult in the world
-
Yeh lots of guys win championships on TEAMS. No knock on Rambis but comon comparing him to Jeter is level worthy. Guy played less than 20 minutes a game and was a 5 and 5 guy. Comon really? Jeter just joined a club of 28 guys amongst the thousands and thousands of players to play baseball in the last 100 years

Edited By: gamma21 Jul 10th, 2011 at 01:18 AMI think Jeter gets a lot of shit because he's pretty much been a brutal defensive shortstop for a long time, yet he continues to pile up the gold gloves. Jeter has obviously provided a lot of value offensively at SS in the past, but has been nowhere near a gold glover.Originally Posted by AMARTIN1181

haven't read past this post. WTF baseball prospectus has a "war" now too? sabermetric community has to start policing itself with this nonsense. You can't have 3 versions of the same stat. Just name it something else. I imagine this shit must get laughed at.
also I would suck Derek Jeter's dick if he wanted me too...Torre too. -

Congrats to Jeter I guess.. 3000 hits is an accomplishment.. No one seemed to be on Craig Biggio's dick this much when he got his 3000th hit.. And his career stats are pretty similiar.. But he didnt benefit from being on a great team like Jeter. Jeter is a really good player who won the frickin lottery when he was put into the Yankees lineup..

I hope Amartin's been drinking since noon

Do you know anything about Jeter, baseball, or sports in general? Just, wow....

I've learned in all my years of being a fan around here that you can't argue with a yankees fan about jeter. So I don't even bother. You guys lose all objectivity when it comes to him.
-
I am a Yankees homer but I am not a Jeter fanboy.
In fact he has never been my favorite Yankee, but when you say congrats on 3000 hits you guess and then wonder why a Houston Astro didnt recieve the same coverage as a 5 time world champion starting shortstop and captain of the New York Yankees, you lose a lot of credibility baseball wise. -
Pretty sure Afink works at Foxwoods. Everyone who works there is a rabid Red Sox homer with no sense of anything. Don't hold it against him.
-
He is a Ranger fan so he'll always have a special place in my heart.
-
seriously. probably has something to do with Jeter being a once a generation player who is probably(along with A-rod) the most recognizable player in baseball.

Yeah, some people outside of NY are always going to hate Jeter due to jealousy. Guy is probably the most popular athlete in New York since Mickey Mantle.
-
Not true. We have a pretty good mix of yankees and sox fans here makes for good debate. And although I'm a sox fan I dont hate the Yankees and I'm pretty sure I've watched more yankee baseball in my life since the early 80s than most people who would call themselves yankees fans. I can never be accused of being a homer in any of my teams. If my teams suck like the rangers or Knicks I'll say so. If my team is really really good like green bay I'll say it.
